See the Curio Shop in a Browser

A few week ago we announced that Webkinz Classic will be returning to browsers in Q4 2025. To help keep you on top of how the project is going, we will be releasing updates showing our progress.

First, we want to clarify the release plan for our browser-based solution:

We will release on browsers for PC and Mac first. This will get players into the game the fastest. We will of course keep the existing PC/ Mac application version available and running for players who prefer to use it.

We will then complete the mobile version. The biggest challenge will be ensuring that Webkinz doesn’t rotate when a player holds their phone vertically. We expect that this period will take two months to complete.

This isn’t going to work

At this point we will begin addressing fixing bugs, adding back missing features, and working on our first new features in years. We are fixing a few small issues as part of our current conversion, but the real work will begin after we launch. We are already going through the process of prioritizing these fixes and features and thank all of our fans for giving us their feedback as to what they most want to see.

Now onto the video! Today we’ll see the Curio Shop, one of the many features not currently available in the Webkinz Classic mobile app, playing in a browser (Microsoft Edge was used). Arte is already talking, selling items and helping players find gems for the legendary Crown of Wonder! All the features you know and love. Check it out:

    Poor guy. No gems :(

Will all of the arcade games be available to play in the mobile browser, or just some of them? I’m particularly curious about the games that require the keyboard to play and how those would work on a mobile device.

I had a question about the updated browser version: will we still be able to play any deluxe arcade games if we bought them using ganz coins on mobile?

I am not at all computer literate when it comes to computer terms. Does this mean I will have to download Webkinz Classic on my laptop through Edge to play this version. Also my mobile is an Android and didn’t read if it will be included too. Matter of fact the only things I use my mobile for is work related or playing Webkinz games with a stylus and accepting a phone call once in awhile. I don’t even text due to no cartilage in my finger joints.

This means you won’t need to download Webkinz at all. It was originally just a website and became an app much later. Eventually players will be able to login to their account from any device that has internet access.

I would love to be able to visit friends houses again and use the party packs I have saved in my dock, hoping they would come back. This is so exciting. Thank you!

Hope us senior citizens can take the change.

The return to browsers isn’t a change, it’s things going back to the way they were before. Webkinz becoming an app was when things changed.

Besides bringing back missed things like Mazin Hamsters, DiceKinz, and so on I would also love to see the community codes be in ONE easy line, so we can just copy and paste the entire code into the box at once. I have arthritis and carpal tunnel problems and entering in codes into my accounts can really be rough on my hands and wrists.

I’m very excited to see Webkinz returning to browsers—thank you for making that happen! I’d love to see the return of classic features like getting sick and visiting Dr. Quack’s office. Perhaps it could be reintroduced as a browser-exclusive feature to encourage more players to join the platform.
