A few week ago we announced that Webkinz Classic will be returning to browsers in Q4 2025. To help keep you on top of how the project is going, we will be releasing updates showing our progress.
First, we want to clarify the release plan for our browser-based solution:
We will release on browsers for PC and Mac first. This will get players into the game the fastest. We will of course keep the existing PC/ Mac application version available and running for players who prefer to use it.
We will then complete the mobile version. The biggest challenge will be ensuring that Webkinz doesn’t rotate when a player holds their phone vertically. We expect that this period will take two months to complete.
This isn’t going to work
At this point we will begin addressing fixing bugs, adding back missing features, and working on our first new features in years. We are fixing a few small issues as part of our current conversion, but the real work will begin after we launch. We are already going through the process of prioritizing these fixes and features and thank all of our fans for giving us their feedback as to what they most want to see.
Now onto the video! Today we’ll see the Curio Shop, one of the many features not currently available in the Webkinz Classic mobile app, playing in a browser (Microsoft Edge was used). Arte is already talking, selling items and helping players find gems for the legendary Crown of Wonder! All the features you know and love. Check it out:

I’m still so excited for this! Especially about adding features and fixing existing ones. Please don’t feel rushed by me saying this but I really, really, want to be able to change our pet’s names. I have so many misspells that need to be fixed because I was a young child. I’ve emailed my suggestion before, adding a “lock” feature. For example, you can only change a specific name once every thirty days, this would be to prevent someone spamming to change a name over and over. I could see this being misused in the trade room especially. Anyway, thank you so much Ganz/Webkinz for keeping Classic alive. I love it so much.
Exciting!! I would love to see a SEARCH feature added. Search for specific room names or specific items instead of having to go through the entire dock.
Yes, please! I have been asking for a search box for the dock and for rooms forever. This would be so great. I have so many rooms I can’t find and the dock is just impossible to find things in. Having items with tags like chair, table, plant, even maybe colors, so we can narrow down matching pallets and the item names of course. This would be a total game changer for decorating.
Does this mean you’ll be fixing kinzchat, and bring back the ability to invite friends over?

I am so excited about this!!! I wonder if there could be a place where we can all send in our thoughts on what we’d love to see in the updated version….things like moving rooms and/or doors, selling back empty rooms, hanging items over doorways etc. etc. I don’t know of anywhere other than here, but it sure would be nice to share ideas all in one place. Getting feedback from Webkinz would be nice too on those ideas. Just a thought.

It sounds like you’ll be fixing the room items that haven’t worked correctly in a long time! Please let one of these items be the Webkinz Guide that used to be given to new players years ago! Everytime I click on mine, nothing happens and I really miss looking through it once in awhile to enjoy the screenshots of the old Webkinz World! Please plan on fixing it so it works again! Thank you! :)
Does the browser release mean that certain UI elements will be updated in the future?
This will be wonderful! We will be able to check for rare items even if we’re on the go. :)
I know this will take a LOT of work and there is still a much to do. I just really hope if you have time could you try to fix having friends over and the party packs?
