A few week ago we announced that Webkinz Classic will be returning to browsers in Q4 2025. To help keep you on top of how the project is going, we will be releasing updates showing our progress.
First, we want to clarify the release plan for our browser-based solution:
We will release on browsers for PC and Mac first. This will get players into the game the fastest. We will of course keep the existing PC/ Mac application version available and running for players who prefer to use it.
We will then complete the mobile version. The biggest challenge will be ensuring that Webkinz doesn’t rotate when a player holds their phone vertically. We expect that this period will take two months to complete.
This isn’t going to work
At this point we will begin addressing fixing bugs, adding back missing features, and working on our first new features in years. We are fixing a few small issues as part of our current conversion, but the real work will begin after we launch. We are already going through the process of prioritizing these fixes and features and thank all of our fans for giving us their feedback as to what they most want to see.
Now onto the video! Today we’ll see the Curio Shop, one of the many features not currently available in the Webkinz Classic mobile app, playing in a browser (Microsoft Edge was used). Arte is already talking, selling items and helping players find gems for the legendary Crown of Wonder! All the features you know and love. Check it out:

You are able to win the throne I do not think it is glitched. I have won the throne more then 2 or 3 times.
it’s been a couple years for me. It doesn’t work. looks like I don’t have all the stars when I do. I just want it fixed.
Oh okay I have something like that as well where it’s glitched just for me. When I put wish tokens in The wish machine I get pop up’s sometimes but they say nothing and the only thing I can do is click okay. They are supposed to be bonus wish token’s that you get sometimes when you place your wish tokens in. But for me I never get any.

Love that you all are doing this! My request is to bring back tutoring to the academy. My poor pet has completed all of his classes except we just can’t get through the last few levels of the strength class no matter how many times we try! We want our diploma! No pet left behind! :)
I have to say I’m not excited about this. Never able to get everything working after all these years. I got wrong pet code when my subscription was renewed. I get logged out all the time too. Gotta love getting logged out in the middle of a game

I agree. i have a few pets that got to level nine and i haven’t been able to go any further with it
me to I cant get past level nine lol. hope we get the items after we pass class ten, I got a hairstylist desk and i think one more thing that’s all.
I’m very excited, thank you so much for doing this project! Once the browser relaunch is open and running in the future, are there plans to talk about the kind of tech that’s used to put Webkinz back in the browser? More specifically, is Classic being converted to HTML5, or being emulated with a Flash sandbox like Ruffle, or is it something else entirely? I’m intrigued to know, ’cause I’m a serious nerd :) No pressure, though.
