I was really excited to see this post too, until I heard that the traits for the candy cane cat cannot be passed down. I’m also really disappointed and hope that this can be reconsidered. I also have a few questions about the candy cane cat. First, how many diamonds will it cost to purchase the candy cane cat and what will its rarity be? Also, will the Candy Cane cat return in the future? I really love the Candy Cane cat’s design and I would probably name it Peppermint if I get a candy cane cat, but I’m just not sure if I would get the candy cane cat with its features being unable to be passed down.
One of my favorite parts of sparking is the gorgeous combinations of traits from each pet. I may be outnumbered, maybe people do not find sparking babies as fun as I do. I’m really sad that none of the traits will be passed down. What a bummer.
You are not alone! I love sparking babies on Webkinz Next too. I don’t it very often because I try to save diamonds to spark for each pet, but when I earn up for it, I spark a baby pet in front of family and friends. I really love seeing the traits that my baby pets get from each parent, whether it was directly passed down or it was a new unique trait that the baby has.
Same here…

That is so disappointing. The halloween pets give tons of halloween traits, but we don’t get Christmas traits? Even if we didn’t get new colors, we don’t get holly? Or the sparkles? Sparking is a favorite for my siblings. What is the point of a pet that doesn’t give new traits? Do we get a price break because we had a price increase for the dragon?
Oh, I totally agree! A price break for no traits please since we had a price increase for the dragon traits. Seems fair to me!
That does seem fair.
This peppermint cat is so adorable. I can’t wait to see the traits! I really enjoy the sparks parties, they are always so fun to watch! If anyone is considering buying the island property, I would say do not. It lacks a lot. The gorgeous European Villa is a much better choice because it has the Olive Orchard Background. I was super disappointed that there is no background for the island property. It would have been very easy to design some pretty palm trees on sand. Simple, but at least it would be worth the cost. The water at the front is cute, but is minimal. The sand is adorable, but again, minimal. It would be nicer if there was more sand since it is supposed to be a vacation home. Overall, not worth it. Spend your diamonds elsewhere :)
Thank you for this advice. I was considering it, but since I can’t even use saved up diamonds, I wasn’t sure. This helps a lot!
Wow super cute!
I was so excited when I saw this until I read it counts as orange tabby for sparking. Now I’m really sad and I’m going to pass on this one. If it sparked as candy cane cat , I would have purchased probably 2 and I would have gone crazy sparking babies…. If there is any way you could reconsider I would be thrilled
I second this! I was estatic when clicking on the article and the more I read it, the more disappointed I got when hearing that the traits from the candy cane cat aren’t passed down. I considered getting it too, but now I really just don’t know.
I know, I previously posted I was excited about the traits. I didn’t read the broom. I hope they are transparent about this in the adoption center….
Bottom of the article^
This is one cute cat but sad that none of the candy cane features will be passed down.
I am sad that it won’t pass traits. What would happen if you sparked 2 of them? Would you get an orange tabby?
You never know…I have sparked vampire kittens and received Plush Rare pets (pig, elephant, rainbow retriever, cow) instead of a pet with a combination of the features of Vampire Kittens. You are offered a ‘respark’ if you already have the Plush pet, but if you don’t…it can be disappointing!
Yes. A boring orange tabby and its regular plain traits. No holiday traits at all. Even if you purchased two to spark. Buyer beware.
Any pets sparked over the holidays has a chance of getting holiday traits.
Need to buy him, time to buy more diamonds, why can’t he be a plush? S darn adorable
Ok, I need this guy. So wish it was a plush, don’t have any plush that looks this beautiful. Time to buy more diamonds, again.
