It’s so cool to see how my design idea was interpreted by the team! While it definitely has some changes from the original concept, I do really like some of the additional elements. The table with the candy corn garland is fantastic, and the flooring is just too cute! It really is an honor to have won and I appreciate the opportunity :D
@qrax – YOU ARE AMAZING! Thank you for being more kind and respectful than I was! I am humbled by your outlook here. If I had a design that I created and then saw that the final design was now what I created, I would have been very upset. I hope you will continue to make amazing room designs and share them here on Webkinz Newz! I look forward to seeing your amazing work! I think YOUR original design was PERFECT, and it should have been respected and created like that. I completely understand the reaction, it’s definitely a bit jarring when you have a vision of things looking one way and it turns out to be different, and I absolutely appreciate everyone’s kind words in support of my original design. I hope you and everyone else have an amazing Fall as well! :D
Oof. I don’t feel like ganz designer understood Qrax’s vision. Nothing here is badly done, it just doesn’t go together. The best way I could describe the vibe right now is kid’s halloween coloring sheet. I’m sure a lot of that has to do with the wallpaper, but also the odd color choices and changed design. The art qrax made was beautiful, and well thought out. I think the rest of the design should reflect that. A big, puffy black or muted orange couch would improve this a lot. The futon with the odd placement of a bat looks very lazy, like no time or resources were put into this. The chairs and redesigned window shades scream cheap diner (would be beautiful a smaller, more muted check) then the rug and chairs appear more scarecrow/fall than halloween? Even the green table cloth color was changed to look like grass, with outdoor lamps for the walls… I just don’t understand why all these elements were thrown together in such an odd way. Webkinz W-shop halloween themes are usually beautiful, and creative. Look at the old webkinz halloween themes and then this one. I hate that this looks so rushed and there’s no creativity what so ever in the items added outside of qrax’s design. That said, I do love the liberty taken with the wooden headboard. The wooden appearance with the smaller, four poster pumpkin design is beautiful.

I just want to update this to say perhaps I was too harsh right off the bat. In my webkinz room- I actually like it. While it was a bit more difficult to coordinate, it looks nice in game. I also want to apologize to the Ganz designer. It seems like while a lot of us here don’t seem to share the same vision the designer had for the room, my comment still had what I now understand to be pretty harsh words before we even experienced the theme in game. Overall, I’m still so incredibly grateful that we have not one-but TWO amazing versions of this game to play, and ganz employees working hard everyday to create new stuff for us. With the world events currently happening, webkinz has become somewhat of an escape for me and so perhaps it’s easy to get emotional about it sometimes. But at the end of the day there’s a person on the other side of the screen who created this room way better than I ever could, so I’m sorry for being so critical before I even gave the theme a chance.
It needs to be more cozy like the bed and curtains in the original design. I don’t like the yellow. Needs more green/brown/orange like the inspiration. I will still buy the theme pieces and try to Halloween it up if I can.

This would be cute for some, but where I don’t decorate with ghosts, witches, etc., I won’t be buying any of the theme. I do love the flooring so will buy a few of those!

I will not be be getting tis them at all. I do not like it, I will pass on this one, this looks so boring, we need a better one. I hope I can stock up on the old on from last year.
I do not like this one at all…It looks different than the design submitted for the contest. Not sure if I will buy this one. It should have been better for the 20th year celebration. I hope Webkinz Next have better designs.
I like this new theme. but it looks more like an Autumn theme than a Halloween one. There is nothing creepy or spooky about it, at all. And, who decided on yellow sofas to add to the design?? The wallpaper and flooring are just boring, imo. :(
Respectfully, this looks so far off from qrax’s design. I understand the use of the phrase “inspired by” leaves room for interpretation, but the creative liberties taken feel disrespectful. It’s unfair to the community to allow them to vote, but then to underdeliver on their choice, and unfair to qrax to change their fan-favorite design for no real purpose. Even if some elements were too complex for an in-game item, even just the colors were unnecessarily changed. I doubt there is reasonable time to remake the theme now, but please keep the community in mind when choosing to make changes or underdeliver.
