It’s Sally Webkinz here with all your Thanksgiving news… and, most importantly, here to chat a bit about my favorite topic… FOOD!
This year, Thanksgiving is falling on Thursday, November 23. Be sure to log in to Webkinz World on the 23rd to receive your Thanksgiving Gift — logging in from mobile works, too, if you need to sneak on during dinner! This November is a bit on the quiet side — so rest up, because a busy December is up ahead!
Now, Canadian Thanksgiving was in October, but the Newz team is always up for round 2 of tasty treats! I asked them about their favorite Thanksgiving foods and traditions. Transcript below!
SALLY: So, I gotta ask… is there one food that you simply can’t miss at Thanksgiving? A “It ain’t Thanksgiving unless there’s this food” kind of food?
MANDY: Brussels sprouts, for sure.
SALLY: I.. I was not expecting that, but sure. It’s not my favorite vegetable, but I’ve learned to accept it. What about you, Stephen?
STEPHEN: TURKEY!
SALLY: Ha! Yeah, I guess that’s pretty important. Though some people have things like cornish hens, or turkduckens. What about you, Michael?
MICHAEL: It’s gotta be garlic mashed potatoes.
SALLY: Oh, that does sound good. For me, I have to have stuffing and cranberry sauce. I can eat just a plate of that and be happy. YUM! Speaking of YUM…. dessert! What’s your favorite dessert for Thanksgiving, Mandy? Is it pie?
MANDY: Actually, I like pumpkin cheesecake.
SALLY: Good choice! I love a good cheesecake, myself, and pumpkin is very Thanksgivingy. What about you, Stephen?
STEPHEN: Pumpkin pie, of course.
SALLY: Can’t go wrong with a traditional favorite. Sweet potato is pretty good, too! Hey, Michael — where does your sweet tooth lead you?
MICHAEL: We-ellll, I like blueberry pie best, to be honest.
SALLY: Ooh, nice one. Not as traditional, but still pie. Excellent. For me, I have to have a slice of apple pie… maybe with some cheddar on top… or with ice cream and whipped cream and… and… well, I think I’m getting a little distracted by all this food talk. Mandy, do you have any special traditions for Thanksgiving?
MANDY: We all like to play board games after dinner.
SALLY: That’s great fun! Stephen, anything special for Thanksgiving?
STEPHEN: The most important part of Thanksgiving for me is having dinner with my family.
MICHAEL: Yeah, me, too!
SALLY: Family is very important. I don’t get to see most of my family very often, but I’m happy to say that I’ve made some great friends who have become a second family to me! I guess my biggest Thanksgiving tradition is that I have… two Thanksgivings, sometimes three! I’ll have one Thanksgiving with my in-laws, then another with my friends… and then sometimes, I’ll celebrate American Thanksgiving in November. It’s just too long to wait until December to have a big turkey dinner!
There you have it, folks. What about you? What food can’t you do without at Thanksgiving? What’s your favorite pie or dessert? Do you have any special Thanksgiving traditions? We’d love to hear about them!
Also, what would you like me to report on next? Tell us in the comments below!
This was a cool report! :) I enjoyed hearing the Newz teams’ favorite Thanksgiving foods and traditions! For me, the one food I always have to have is the delicious rolls that we have and ONLY have on Thanksgiving and Christmas. ;) As for the dessert, pumpkin pie is my very favorite, and probably my favorite Thanksgiving food altogether. And for traditions, my family always watches the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, has a Thanksgiving dinner, (which we have at lunch), and watch a Christmas movie in the evening. :)
Also, that room pictured above is really awesome!! :D
We watch a Christmas movie too at night on Thanksgiving! :D it’s an annual tradition for us and it’s always the same movie every year and no skip outs everyone had to be there, LOL!
Oh, you do? That’s awesome! :D It’s been a tradition in our family for quite awhile, heheh. ;) Which movie do you watch? We don’t watch the same one every year, but we seem to watch Elf a lot, haha
Fantastic Special Report, Sally! It is so much fun to learn about all the WKN Team’s Thanksgiving favorites. Also—I LOVE your room! So cozy, warm, and festive.
Y’all are making me soooo hungry now! Lol!
Are you guys making more changes in Webkinz World? Yesterday Webkinz Newz wouldn’t load at all. All day. Ditto the Webkinz Clubhouse. And the Clubhouse still won’t load today! What’s going on?
Also my Friends List won’t power on. Please fix these problems!
I was experiencing the exact same thing! I was at first worried that it was just me… I was right in the middle of playing on my account early yesterday morning, when my browser stopped working, and when I went back on, I noticed that none of the kinzchat areas (the clubhouse, park, etc.) wouldn’t load… and I couldn’t get on Webkinz newz at all! It was pretty strange… I haven’t checked my account again yet, but I’m at least glad that WKN is working again
I thought it was just me who couldnt get into the clubhouse or newz site missed a peek a newz prize kinda upsetting
I wrote to the tech’s this morning and the clubhouse seems to be working now.
Great room, Sally! Love the outfits on everone. Steve, you’re such a ham with the turkey hat… or, uhm, is Mandy the ham? Sally, you’re sure to get the turkey yawns and fall asleep on the couch after that meal so you may want to move the candles away from the curtains! Have a happy and safe US thanksgiving, eh!
Oh, Bernie, that is a bad pun LOL
Fun report! :) I’ll answer the questions: Favorite food at dinner: Green beans or crescent rolls. (Michael- garlic mashed potatoes sounds HEAVENLY! I wish I got them on Thanksgiving!) Favorite dessert: Chocolate cheesecake. Traditions: Eating with my family!
I’m with you, Mandy. Apple pie with any of the above!
Actually, it was Sally that said apple pie. Anyway, any kind of pie!!! Preferably several kinds…I miss the Thanksgivings of my childhood when we were always on a camping trip with my parents’ club on Thanksgiving, there was always a huge potluck turkey dinner with many kinds of pie!
Sally, I agree that extending the celebration makes it better. We do it too, one dinner with Family, one with Neighbors & one with Family of Choice!
Alrighty, apple pie with cheddar… XP That doesn’t sound very good, but not half bad as appples and cheddar go together alright! I like any kind of pie, and I absolutely cannot have a Thanksgiving without mashed potatoes, homemade cranberry sauce, stuffing, and of course, turkey! Mmm! We actually never eat turkey at Christmas (on Christmas Day we have Christmas dinner), but we do usually have a big, Thanksgiving like feast. Happy Early Thanksgiving, Webkinz and Ganz, and all of the members of WKN, and a safe one! Nice report, Sally :)
hi webkinz, on my account, whenever i try to go to the clubhouse for the last day or so, it says “couldn’t load kinzchat server list” and won’t load because of that i guess. everything else that i’ve been on works, but i don’t know how to fix it!
I have been having similar problems since yesterday as well.
They had a power outage and are working hard to get us all back up and running. It’s nice that the accounts still had some functionality, though.
Oh, good to know thanks dixiecup :) I needed to do my challenge task in the tournament arena this morning and yeah, the kinzchat couldn’t open. I always figure somethin’s goin on over there and just try back later or tomorrow…then it’s usually fixed.
Ooooohhh that would make sense.
It logs me out when I try entering! :( Hope it works soon…
I think it would be great if you reported on some of the games in Webkinz — like jellybean challenge for instance. What do those clues mean? How close are you if it says oooh, that was close?
Good idea! Though if you google “cheats” for the challenge, some should come up. :) It helped me! I actually won the jar of jellybeans a few months back! It is edible, so be careful if you win it. I put it in my food collection. :D
I think that if you get like 8 or less away, you should get the jar though. it’s super hard to get it right…
