Hello Webkinz Newz readers, Michael Webkinz here with a special report!
When we add a new room theme to the W-Shop, we like to ask for your help with deciding which one to add. The first time we allowed players to choose a new room theme was in 2014. Players had 5 choices to pick from: Sweets & Treats, Plaid, Clothing Store, Toadstool and Lemon Drop. We released a concept drawing of each theme and left it to you to choose by holding a vote, right here on Webkinz Newz.
Players picked the Toadstool theme as their favorite, and it was added to the W-
Shop later that year.
The next theme we released was the Sweet 16 room theme. Once again this was decided by a vote on Webkinz Newz:
Then, we added the hotel theme to the W-Shop. This theme included a variety of items that you could use to build a hotel lobby and guest rooms. We actually released Haunted Hotel items later that year as Halloween prizes, which players could use to “hauntify” their hotels. Spooky!
We also allowed players to vote for our seasonal Halloween and Christmas room themes but the last permanent theme that was added to the W-Shop was the Party Time room theme. This theme was actually suggested by a fan and was picked by players by another vote on Webkinz Newz:
Soon it will be time to add another room theme to the W-Shop which will, once again, be determined by a vote right here on Webkinz Newz. Do you have any suggestions for new room themes that you’d like to see added to the shop? Were there themes that didn’t win in the past that you’d like to vote for again? Let us know by leaving a comment below!
Look for the Toadstool, Sweet 16, Hotel and Party Time room themes in the W-Shop on web & on the Webkinz mobile app.
This has been Michael Webkinz reporting for Webkinz Newz…
There are so many great ideas suggested! Myself I am still stuck on Big City Loft that was one of the options I voted on last time. I love the chair – the style, colour would work in nicely to so many room themes. I think it would be great to have this for a Saloon, Western, or even a Bar & Grill room theme. This type of a chair along with stools, benches to sit on and eat, tables wrought iron railings, spindles and windows the appearance changes when positioned. Some antique light fixtures, pictures and plants to hang on the wall jukebox, dishes/drinking glasses, long/short counter to make bar area. Oh I would have so much fun with this…
I’m in with the Saloon/Western ideas!
I love the Atlantis idea as well as the 1600″s
I’d love a Titanic theme room! (Ya I know there are already some references lol) It’s wallpaper could be Titanic’s deck, a first class passenger’s cabin, or even the Grand Staircase. It could also have deck chairs, portholes, white star line flags, tea carts, and more! :)
How crazy would it be to have an alien theme room with windows that have a space ship out the window on one wall and just flashing lights out the other. it could have an alien popping out of a closet or another peeking from behind a door. I think this could work with many items already on webkins, or may-be even a new idea for halloween
Now THAT would be an awesome room!! I wholeheartedly support this idea! Webkinz doesn’t really have any sci-fi rooms available for Kinzcash, so I’d love to see this one happen! Besides, it’s completely different from anything that exists in Webkinz right now, whereas a lot of other suggestions I’ve seen so far are either very similar to already-existing themes or can be created by combining already-existing themes. Ganz…please, make an alien theme happen!! :)
(Okay, I now remember that the Galaxy theme still exists…but it’s not a very large theme, and it’s still nothing like an alien idea.)
Oh, yes! We could do so much with this!
AMAZING IDEA! THAT WOULD BE AWWWWESOME!
So many fantastic ideas from everyone! Here’s my ‘two cents’—I do agree with Ttgbird14: WW needs a Firehouse theme–with very detailed wallpaper, (much like the detail and perspective created in the train station wallpaper.) Also: someone suggested a 1950′s theme-That could be adorable with a vintage gas station. (WW could use a gas station; we have all those cars!) And I have long thought (as another fan mentioned earlier), a Gym theme would be fabulous. I created a gym with various items and PSI’s–and it turned out pretty good, but I think it would be awesome for the W-Shop to have a more cohesive theme that promotes health and wellness in a fun and creative way. And finally: I love the suggestions of those who mentioned creating an outdoor theme—lots of options with a new outdoor theme: How about a Porch theme? There aren’t any stand-out wallpapers to create a porch, and items like a swing, a welcome mat, and windows that have interior views would be great. Or, another idea have been thinking about for ages: A City Street theme: we don’t have any concrete sidewalks in WW! We have the flagstone (among my favorite items in the W-Shop!), and they look amazing—but a City Street Theme could be very unique, with new trees, new plants, concrete sidewalks, wallpaper that has the W-Shop, Curio Shop, and PJ Collie’s in the background. Another consideration: a Bank Theme could be fun: I’ve seen a few amazing room designs that replicate a bank, but again, maybe a more cohesive theme would be interesting to have. Also: a Post Office theme. How much fun would that be for Fiona Feathers to have her own theme? No doubt about it, Ganz: There is no shortage of ideas! Can’t wait to see what the Creative Team comes up with.
Yeah! I think that’s a great idea! Yes, a City Street would be cool!
I would love to see an adventure park theme with the Cave Walls. There could be rock beds and tables, an underground stream and cave doors.
Something fun might be an “onstage” theme- different from previous theatre themes in that the wallpaper and flooring would make your entire room the actual stage. There could be curtains and dressing room and stage doors as wall decorations, little “cardboard” trees and bushes, stage lights, floor speakers and microphones, little light and sound booth tables. There could also be flats (which set designers use to create the illusion of walls etc on stage) which could utilize the new customization options -like some of the christmas trees have- where you can put a painted window or a brick facade on them. Stand alone doors and windows, pylons, stairs, everything your pets need to put on their very own play! “Expansion packs” could also be added to the estore meant to accompany the theme that would allow your pet to put on a specific play, or you could use themes already available to put on something like The Wizard of Oz, Oklahoma, or Cinderella. Other ideas I think a “magical dormitory” theme would be a lot of fun and could be combined with the Wizard, medieval, and other themes already available. Another cute theme might be a playground outdoor theme? I know there are already some other playground equipment type pieces available and it might be nice to fit those into a big playground.
YEAH! That sounds awesome!
I like the basic room theme idea! How about a sewing/kniting theme? I have many rooms who could need that!
My fingers hurt from sewing. XD
Underwater Seaweed theme, Flowering Treetop theme, Pond theme, Cave theme, Ying Yang theme
I’m so glad you asked, Michael! Something vintage would be nice. Like, an “everyday” Victorian theme that’s not attached to Christmas, or an Art Deco Roaring Twenties theme or a graceful, organic Art Noveau theme. A new underwater theme featuring a “sunken” look, including fabulous wall paper showing the remains of a submerged Kingdom, a pillar that changes as you rotate it, bits of eroded stone buildings and some cool new underwater plants & rock formations. In other words, the lost Kingdom of Atlantis. For my friends who love warm weather, how about a Resort theme that focuses on the tropical look? Finally, another historical theme, but later in the timeline than the Medieval theme, something set in the 1600′s, like the Three Musketeers era. The wall paper could depict a palace, either interior or exterior. If you went with the indoor idea, then fancy palace furnishings in gold & white. If the exterior wall paper idea were used, the set pieces would include a Palace Guard shack, a couple of market Stands, the Village Well, & a couple of freestanding Cottages that takes up 4 squares. Additional, different Cottage designs could be sold as companion pieces in the eStore or offered as challenge prizes. And the eStore clothing possibilities would be marvelous, with absolutely smashing hats!
I almost forgot to add the first idea I thought of. How about a Mini-World theme? We have some very cool miniature items already in Webkinz World, but nothing that really ties them all together, so how about a theme including mini trees, new mini buildings (like doll houses), vehicles & furniture items? This could take the Mini Room craze to a fun new level and provide our pets hours of entertainment setting up & visiting their own mini lands. Gulliver’s Travels, anyone?
Technically, they already made a theme called “Atlantis”…but it was just some underwater-patterned pieces of furniture, not nearly as cool as it could be to have an actual underwater-lost-city room theme!
I remember that old Atlantis furniture theme! I still have some of the pieces. I have in mind more of a submerged kingdom idea.
Hmmm, that’s sounds interesting. Yeah, that sounds cool. But they do have an Alantis theme.
BUt yeah, a sunken ship theme would be awesome
