Hi everyone, Steve Webkinz here. In today’s special report, I’m going to take a look at growing gardens in your yard.
For those who’ve been playing in Webkinz World for a while, you’ll know that you can find seed packets in the WShop under the Fun Stuff category.
Once you drag and drop your seeds into either an outdoor or treetop room, unlike before, you’ll no longer need to maintain them before they’re ready for harvest. After enough days have passed, you’ll see your plants are ready.
Click on them to send the grown food to your Dock. The harvested plant will return to its initial growth state and start the clock on growing again.
*Technical note: You can move Growing Garden items around a room at any time without affecting their growth timeline, but if you remove it from the room by sending it back to the Dock, it will be reset.
Plants will remain ready for harvest until you click on them and will never rot. Harvested food can either be fed to your pet or sold back to the WShop for KinzCash. Becoming a Webkinz farmer is a great way to earn lots of KinzCash!

*Technical note: Each Growing Gardens plant grows only 1 food item.
Note: Most Growing Garden seeds in the WShop available for eStore points take 7 days before they’re ready for harvest.

I like a lot of the changes. I’d still like to see us not to have to click OK every time we pick a fruit or veggie. It takes more time. If we only had to click the OK when we missed the plant, it would be more like a helpful correction. As it is , the pets eat a very large amount of fruits and veggies. I’ve seen Michael and Mandy even comment on this. I think it was Mandy that commented on how much they had to be fed to get full. It is hard to keep up with them when you get a lot of pets.
Thanks for this report, Steve! I’ve been growing my own Gardens for many years now, and I love it! While I don’t miss the daily tending, I do miss the multiple harvests and sometimes letting my corn crops die – especially for Halloween. However, I’d REALLY REALLY REALLY love it if you’d add a “Harvest All” button, or, at the VERY least, remove that U.S.E.L.E.S.S. and R.E.D.U.N.D.A.N.T. “Congratulations you’ve harvested …” that shows up for each. and. every. plant. harvested……
I so agree about the message when you harvest a plant. Harvesting 30 pumpkins takes so much time! Same with selling them to the wShop. Can’t we get a counter that says how many do you want to sell? So I don’t have to put each individual pumpkin in there! It takes so long to sell 100 pumpkins.
i wish they got rid of the congrats to but i do miss the tending to the plants :(
I agree with @Powerann! It’s such a pain trying to harvest multiple crops when you have to keep stopping to click on the popup.

That would be awesome as a good farmer as I am. Harvest all! and a Sell all button too.
We really need the addition of both a “Harvest All” button for at least each crop in each individual room and a “Sell All” button in the W-Shop if we want to sell all of a particular item such as all Farm Fresh Pumpkins, or all of any other item that we wish to sell large multiples of. It takes so long to sell 12 farm fresh items at a time that the pet eats food that costs more than what we’re making while selling our produce. That sort of defeats the purpose of trying to sell our produce for extra kinz cash.
There is a lot of seed packets out there. I would love to know how long they take to grow and the different types of seeds.
502 Bad Gateway, over and over and over…..
When I get 502 Bad Gateway on Webkinz Newz, I try quitting my browser and then coming back; it usually gets rid of the problem for a short while, at least for me.
I get that too, and wondering why.
1Emerald1, i get it too! but if i refresh the page that has the bad gateway, it helps and the bad gateway page turns into the page i clicked on.
I’ve tried that, but it refreshes as “Bad Gateway” again. This has become a very frustrating problem as of the past 2 weeks or so. It happens over and over while logged in to Webkinz Newz.
It keeps happening to me too. At least refreshing the page seems to work.
You’re not alone…why hasn’t Ganz done something about this?
I think it’s good that the plants don’t need to be maintained, I remember I used to always be too busy to maintain my plants, (or maybe I was just lazy considering I was only a second grader when I tried to do it), and I never got to harvest them. now, it’s much easier. In another game I play, you do have to maintain plants, and on one of my characters I keep forgetting to do it, so it takes forever to harvest it.
Can we have some more growing seeds from Wshop, like blueberries, raspberries, squash, celery, potatoes, yams, in fact could we have seeds for all the fruit and veggies in Wshop?? I too love doing the gardening, and would like to see some different foods to harvest. Thanks for the great report Steve, I LOVE WEBKINZ!!

(Whoopsie!) I have a garden that is almost full like this one, and I never harvest! XD I really should harvest when they’re ready… LOL!
I kinda wish that “special reports” would be more interesting for people who have been on Webkinz for a long time. Most of them seem to be aimed at newer Webkinz users which there aren’t too many of, so it would be nice to see some things that older Webkinz fans would be interested in.

I suggest that we get more food items per harvest instead of just one every harvest.

Oh Gmatiny, I do so miss the plants that would go squishy, brown and wilty :) I actually did that on purpose, just as you said, for the Halloween rooms. It was only a brief period of time, but after that I would like it if we had our regular plant/grow/harvest cycle. I also liked that you had to get rid of weeds. I always tried to keep on top of those. I just didn’t like the rain or snow. It always bogged things down when we had click events, like this.
Maybe an updated report on items still not fixed. There is a lot of $$$ involved for us. If things do not work take them out of the EStore and W shop. Why advertise items you are aware of not working?
Sally, can we get a special report on how things are progressing with the app for desktop? It’s been a while since anything was mentioned and I would love to see a progress report and a projected launch date. I’ve got my eye on a nifty laptop that should be able to handle anything that Webkinz throws at it and I really want to have the desktop app on that!
MAYBE also a MATCHING HOUSE ;)
I would like an update too. We are moving in the fall and won’t have access to internet but the change is supposed to happen in 2020 I think they said? I would love to be able to just use the internet to download the desktop application because I know I’m going to miss Webkinz in the meantime!
I would love to see a special report on how to train for stadium events *after* your pet has completed every class at the academy, as that has been the only suggestion to improve your chances of placing in an event (other than adding random ingredient foods from your dock to the entry form, or changing what outfit your pet is wearing – or at least I think that should effect your score).
How about the oldest clothing recipes that haven’t been solved. Do people even remember about this? So much money invested in trying to figure outHighland Jacket and Top or the feather light shoes, the Rockin’ Fringe Vest! These were created at the beginning of time! How about a dramatic reveal!
That would be an interesting idea!
How about explaining all of the quests and things to do in the Adventure Park? I’ve been playing Webkinz for a while, but I seldom go to the Adventure Park. Maybe if Steve explained it all in an in-depth report, reluctant players like me might be more interested in checking it out more often. :) (Although, if there are too many quests, that might take more than one report!) Hi Steve, I have a Webkinz farm where my Rabbits live and farm every day. So they are producing farm fresh foods for all the other webkinz in my webkinz town. :)
