Hi everyone, Steve Webkinz here. In today’s special report, I’m going to take a look at the latest updates for Pet Medallions!
If you don’t know anything about our new Pet Medallion system for adopting pets, you’ll want to first read our introduction to Pet Medallions here.
While we’ve been slowly rolling out sets of pets to collect with medallions, the most recent ones are intended to be the last for the near future. This means there are a total of 24 different pets that you can adopt with Pet Medallions.
Not only do different pets require different amounts of medallions to adopt them, but the chance of getting each medallion has different rarities as well. Here’s a look at each pet’s medallion value and rarity:
Out of the 24 pets, 2 of them (the Rainbow Googles and the Diamond Dragonfly) are exclusive to the Pet Medallion system, which means that it’s the only way that you can adopt them!
There is also an “Any Pet” Pet Medallion that can be collected and used towards any of the 24 pets. When you get one, it is automatically added to the Any Pet Medallion counter on your Pet Medallions screen. You can then add it to a specific pet by selecting that pet in the Medallions tab and then clicking the Any Pet Medallions transfer button in the top left (orange) area of your screen.
If you’ve collected 10 medallions for a pet, you can also trade them for 1 Any Pet Medallion. Just select that pet and then click on the exchange button on the bottom left (blue) area of your screen.
There are now many more ways to collect Pet Medallions than there were when we first launched this feature.
Arcade games marked with a red gift box can award prizes for a “Great Play” (i.e., a specific score threshold). One of the prizes included in those drops are Pet Medallions. All games in the Webkinz mobile app Arcade can award a prize drop.
The “Great Play” score is different for each game. We can’t tell you what those scores are because there is only a chance that you’ll get a prize drop if you hit it, however we have recently increased the odds of getting a prize drop when getting a “Great Score”.
We’ve also added Pet Medallions to the Daily Delivery, so there’s a chance you’ll win one each day that you log into your Webkinz account.
We’ve also added a floating Pet Medallion that you can click on and collect 1 additional medallion per day.
Deluxe Members will now find a Deluxe Pet Medallion Gift Box among their monthly prizes. Inside is a random assortment of rare, uncommon and common Pet Medallions, including a chance at getting an Any Pet Medallion!
We also plan on offering more Pet Medallions as part of other prize pools and special offers in the near future. Keep watching Webkinz Newz for the latest updates!

I’m with you on being able to sell, send via KinzPost, or trade anything and everything. The stuff you can’t get rid of seems so random. I, too, have lots of stuff I don’t want. The New tab works just fine on my dock, though, I don’t know why yours doesn’t. And I’m at the point now where my next Family Score award will take 50,000 more points! Yikes!

Hey Steve – Thanks for this report! I have a suggestion for you: How about if you were to offer special ‘Sale Days’ where, for certain special days of the year, we can exchange 5 of any one pet medallion for 1 AnyPet Medallion (instead of 10). These special ‘Sale Days’ could, for instance, coincide with days we get to spin the extra-rare Super Wheel. What do you say? (Wink-wink, nudge-nudge!)

Maybe if more pets are added in the future, then they could make it that we can exchange 5 medallions of one pet for an Any Pet Medallion.
Can you add the rabbit next to the medallion list please, it would be so nice to get the rabbit.
lunaticfringe (GREAT user, BTW), I have to agree with a lot of what you said. I, too, have probably maxed out on Family Score & will most likely not make it to another prize level, but oh well. I don’t mind about not making it to a free pet either, that’s the way it goes, right? I have a very busy life, so…I do mind that we all still seem to have estore items that don’t function properly, the animation does not work or whatever. I mind that the estore is still selling some items that don’t function. I’ve been asking for the fixing of the animation on the Enchanted Train Station wall paper for over 3 years, among other things. It’s extremely disappointing to be a paying customer for 10 years & still be ignored, to say the least. But hey, there’s no reason to be aggravated by unwanted items in your dock! Make a complete list of everything you want to get rid of. email Customer Service with the list & ask them to remove the items from your account. They will do so. There’s one problem solved, anyway!

I’m not putting significant energy into getting pet medallions. I only have managed to collect a handful so far, some of the possible choices have one & many have none. I’m not paying much attention to it because that’s just more frustration. Perhaps some day in a few years I’ll find that I have enough medallions for a pet & that will be a lovely surprise. Most likely the promotion will end long before I make it to a free pet. This does not bother me in the least. If I do end up winning a pet it’ll make me happy, & if not, that’s okay too. Good luck to all of you players who are quick at this sort of thing, I hope you get the pets you want!

Same here. The more pets they add, the less likely it is that you will EVER get enough of any one medallion.
Where can I find my monthly deluxe prize box?
It should be in your dock under the star tab. If it isn’t, email Customer Service & tell them you didn’t get it, & they will add it for you. Same goes for if your 3,000 deluxe estore points don’t turn up by the 3rd of the month. Good luck!
So far my collection is going well. i recently discovered that by playing hoppy little rocketship (on mobile) and earning at least 5,000 points as often as possible i can get all 10 prizes per day with relative ease! the most medallions i have towards one pet is the cheeky monkey on 25. most of the pets only have 1 or 2 medallions though!
