The Campers get caught in a storm!

Oh no! The Adventure Scout campers were making an orderly way back to Kinzville, hiking under the careful supervision of Sophie, when suddenly a winter storm blew up!

The visibility got so bad that some campers wandered off course and lost sight of the rest of the group! Will the campers find their way back to the group? Will the snow storm die down? We can only hope!

As busy as we are right now in Webkinz World, we MUST drop everything and help find these little lost campers! Bring on the community challenge (if that is what we need to do), and let’s find these poor little darling’s before they freeze! Grabbing my Adventure Rescue items NOW!!!!

I live in Canada and usually we have really bad winters with a lot of snow. Last year we had what we call snowmageddon where 90 cms. of snow fell in 1 storm and the entire place shut down. The Army had to be called in to clear us from a State of Emergency. This year we’ve had 1 storm with 30 cms. of snow and the temps have been so mild that it’s pretty much all gone. Yesterday evening at 8:00 it was still 9 degrees out and we may have about 6 inches of snow left on the ground.

Hello fellow Canadian. That snowmageddon wasn’t in my part of Canada, whew! We’re having a pretty good winter so far. Only a few snow squalls in January. We’re going to be getting more snow tonight and into Friday though. Probably not 90 cms but hopefully enough so kids can get their sleds out and have some winter fun! It’s supposed to be really cold during the weekend too. Batten down the hatches and get the hot chocolate ready! Ajoy65 :)

Wicked cold here too. The Code Blue emergency overnight shelter in my area hasn’t had a break for weeks and there’s no end in sight. Praying for more volunteers who are willing and able to serve.

Whoa. @_@ That really puts our 26* and 7.5 inch 2-day snowfall in perspective. Everything shut down for 2 days. Apparently we aren’t as hardy here as you folks are in Canada. I will make a note to only visit Canada in the summer once the travel restrictions are lifted. LOL!

I am so sad, because I live in the southern US and we hardly ever get snow (and I loathe hot weather and *that* we get way too much of). On the other hand, traditionally if we get more than 3 flakes in a row, the entire town shuts down anyway.

We have a horrible storm here today too. We have lots of winter storms so I know what that is like.

Oh no! I would be terrified! I got lost in the woods once in the summertime, and I was so scared. I kept walking in the direction that I thought I was supposed to be going until I saw something that I recognized and then I was able to get home just fine. I really wish that I had all of the pioneering and survivalist training that these Adventure Scouts have because now they get to put it all to good use and they will probably perform brilliantly under pressure! I wonder if they should find/make shelter until the storm passes? See, this is where good training will really come in handy!

Too right there! I’m glad that my kids have that. My husband is an Eagle Scout as well so I’m covered!

Absolutely. They should build a deadfall tepee, pack the outside with snow; and all get inside to conserve heat; leaving a small hole. They should stay put !!

      • Beckinz8 says:

Ok, Survival 101 now in session. Please explain what a “deadfall tepee” is. I get why they pack the outside with snow to block the weather and leave a small hole like an igloo, because it will be warmer inside. I look forward to learning more!
