The Webkinz Newz community recently chose the Treat or Treat Street theme as this year’s Halloween room theme and today, I am excited to show you the first set of concept drawings!
I really like how this theme is turning out, but there is still some time before the artists start modeling each item in 3D. This is your chance to leave feedback in the comments section below. Tell us what you like or don’t like about each item or how you would make them better. We will be reading each comment carefully and take all your suggestions into consideration before making the final items.
Here is a look at the homes that will be included in this theme. You will be able to add the homes to the border of an outdoor room to create the feel of a neighborhood that is decorated for Halloween. There will be three different homes, each featured in a unique color. You’ll be able to mix and match colors or set up a neighborhood using only one. Do you like the colors we used?:
We added the road tiles that you could collect playing SPREE to the W-Shop and now you’ll have sidewalk pieces to match them. I think they will be perfect to use as pathways leading to each house as well. The paw prints are a nice touch but you don’t need to use them if you don’t like. The sidewalk tiles will change slightly when you rotate them in your room:
This lamp post is beautiful and I love that it will glow purple when it’s turned on. The Trick or Treat banner is also the perfect touch. What do you think?:
The last concept drawing I have to show today is a hedge that is decorated for Halloween. The concept drawing features a giant spider decoration resting on top of the hedge, but it will change with each rotation, giving you lots of design options:

It would be cool to have it so that when you click the buildings a doorbell noise sounds and the pets have a speech bubble that pop up saying Trick or Treat.
Looking good! I personally would prefer the houses to be in more neutral color so they can be used in non-Halloween rooms.
Nice, but not a fan of how the houses look. I was expecting different looking houses, not all the same building style. Each house should look different, in style, color, and decorations, like the Christmas building were. The sidewalk is nice. The hedge is nice, but would be nice to maybe have fence sections so there could be a “fenced in yard” look. The lamp is great, but I agree with a previous comment that there should be banners on both sides. I’m hoping there will be some Fall/Halloween looking trees that can be rotated to show either Fall or Halloween. Need some Halloween yard decorations, too. Not the inflatable pumpkins from last year, but stand up decorations like ghosts, witches, monsters, etc. For those who don’t like or celebrate Halloween, there could be more Fall or Harvest choices. I love both Fall and Halloween. Can’t wait for this design to be ready. Just hoping it will be “affordable” for ALL Webkinz Players! NO ePoints or Deluxe items….PLEASE! KinzCash only!
Great design so far. I would love to see a tree with no or few leaves with a big black crow or raven in it that could be rotated so the bird is in different poses. The same with a black cat that could be rotated. I think the houses would be better with less cobwebs and different decorations for each house. I love and need the sidewalk tiles. Can’t wait for this to be released; it is going to be awesome.
I guess I was hoping that the street scene theme would be more of a neighborhood decorated for a holiday rather than it being a scary neighborhood that no one would ever go to. I am not a fan of spiders. I would prefer if you concentrated more on pumpkins, candy corn, witches and ghosts. I like the houses, but please remove the webs and spiders. Put some decorations in the windows of the houses instead. I’m glad that the hedge rotates, because I do not like the spider and webs version. I like the street lamp and sidewalks.
The drawings are nice… Just all too familiar. When I saw the first concept, I was hoping for a classic, fall-themed neighbourhood with more subdued fall colours (light browns, oranges, purples, etc). These concepts preparing for yet another year of cobweb covered, ragged, spooky sort of feeling items. I think we would be much better off with a regular, Halloween decorated neighbourhood, just like the ones we live in. That said, the biggest change I would like to see is losing the cobwebs all over everything and replace it with your standard Halloween decor, such as banners, yard signs, hay bales, scarecrows, etc. Now, here’s what I think about each item (assuming cobwebs are gone). The houses are structurally designed nicely; maybe subdue the colours a bit to become more natural. A bit of structural variety might be good too. Some fall planters on the porch would be a nice touch, or maybe if they had a porch where our pets could stand to knock on the doors. The street tiles look good to me. I also don’t mind the street lamp, so long as the banner is not so frayed. The same goes for the bush, for which I am excited to see the variety it gets :)
Love these ideas! I would love to see more of a fall-themed sort of decor as opposed to super spooky/creepy! I think the concept drawing for the initial theme when we voted was pretty spot on.
g2u3c4c5i I totally agree. It doesn’t read as a “neighborhood” at all so far.
I really like the lamp. The houses should be animated with little ghosts or other creatures popping out of them.
Cute concept drawings. I would like to see one of the houses be a dispenser available for KinzCash, so everyone has a chance to buy it.
I’m so excited for this theme! But the houses look exactly the same other than the colors, and they’re even decorated the same. I think the actual houses should look a little different, and all have different decorations on each. I think it would be cool if there was another house that looked creepier than the others, like a haunted house. And I think the lamppost would look better if there was another banner on the other side so it’ll be even. I almost think there should be some more decorations that can be placed in front of the houses. And some spooky trees with colorful fall leaves and Halloween decorations hanging from them would be really cool. And to match the trees, there could be large floor tiles that have the same leaves to make it look like the leaves have fallen off. Can’t wait to see more concept drawings! :)
Thank you for the sidewalk tiles! i was really hoping the house fronts would more like the Halloween front door showing more detail.
