Webkinz History: A look back at the Webkinz Road Trip

Let’s cruise down memory lane in the coolest van ever!

As we celebrate 20 Years of Webkinz, we’re taking you down memory lane—in a Webkinz-tastic van! One of the most exciting events in Webkinz history was the Webkinz Road Trip, a cross-country adventure that brought the magic of Webkinz World directly to our amazing fans.

Back in 2010, we wanted to connect with Webkinz fans beyond the screen. That’s when we packed up our Webkinz van and spent the summer visiting gift stores, state fairs and special events across the United States.

From a real life Wheel of WOW to Hug-A-Pug dance-offs, the Webkinz Road Trips treated our fans and our staff to a wildly fun Webkinz experience complete with exclusive prizes and discounts on plush.

The Webkinz Road Trip continued into 2011 and 2012 and it was more than just an event—it was a celebration of the Webkinz community. While the official Road Trip has since retired, the memories and the community live on.

As we mark 20 years of Webkinz, we want to thank all the fans who joined us on this incredible journey—whether at a Road Trip event, in Webkinz Classic, or in Webkinz Next. Your enthusiasm and love for Webkinz are what keep this world so special.

Yes! My mama took us! It was so much fun, and we got the little scratch off cards for the Ganz Road Trip Vans! I remember the real life Wheel of Wow. Such fun memories. We brought our first Webkinz plushies we had ever gotten with us to join in the fun!

Has anyone had trouble with Webkinz Next loading today?

We went to a couple in Florida and had the greatest time. The crowd was fun and the Ganz people ran the event like pros. Thanks for the memories.

Happy Anniversary Webkinz been a member since 2008. I went to a Webkinz road trip when it came to Beaverton Oregon and had a wonderful time. My Friend Sunsan and I still play daily.

I can’t login. Been trying for a while now it also won’t let me update your new feature so when it looks like it’s going all the way through it’s only going to a quarter of the loading scene, but it doesn’t put me all the way into the game please help.

I’m not sure where to ask this so I guess I’ll do it here on the latest post. Did you make fishing more difficult in Next since the last update? Every day now I lose one or two fish. That didn’t happen very often before. And I cannot find a Mantis Shrimp or a Yellow Fin Grouper for the life of me. Is there a trick or am I just a bad fisherman?

Probably a victim of the dreaded Randomized Game Ruiner. That is what happened to me, when you get hopelessly deadlocked in randomness and unable to complete a collection because of it. It happens on Classic too with the Star Challenge and related Fairy Forest activities, including the ability to trade with Nefaria.

      • smiles409 says:

Oh no! Thanks for responding, KarenaJ! That doesn’t sound good. But that would explain it. That’s probably why I never win the grand prize on any collections either. Bummer.

I don’t think it came to my state (as far as I know) but it looks like it was SO fun!!

It would be great if you had another road trip for the 20th year. It’s been many happy years since I was three my mom would sit me on her lap and play with me while she explained the games to me. These are my happiest memories of Webkinz. Still playing don’t think I will ever stop! Thank You
