Webkinz X Revealed: New Pet Meters!

Ella McWoof here! With your help, I’ve been sniffing around for some more information about the secret project known only as “Webkinz X”.

Great news, fellow detectives! I’ve uncovered the top secret documents from Ganz headquarters that explains everything!

I’ll be posting these discovered documents right here in my column starting TODAY!

Here now is the first part of my EXCLUSIVE SCOOP!

Over the past 10 years, Webkinz World has continued to grow and evolve. Webkinz X is the next step in that evolution, as we update some important elements in the game to help take it to the next level!

The main goal of Webkinz X is to make your pets feel more alive and interactive, and to make them more central to the way you play. Taking care of your pets has always been a part of Webkinz World, so we wanted to improve upon this idea, making it both more important AND more rewarding.

Webkinz X will see an update to your pet’s meters, so that they will now look like this:

While the Happiness and Hunger meters remain, instead of Health you will instead need to watch your pet’s Energy. The more things you do with your pet, the happier they will get. However, they will also get hungrier and get tired faster. You will still be able to feed, bathe, groom, and exercise your pets to give them an Energy boost, but eventually your pet will need to sleep in order to get their Energy back. However, all you’ll need to do is give them a nap in any bed, and after a few minutes, they will once again be ready to play!

While these meters will move up and down a lot more as you play, it will only be for your active pet. Once you give one pet a nap, you can simply switch to another and continue to play with them instead!

Feeding your pets will also be more realistic, as we’re updating all of the foods so that big meals will fill them up faster, while smaller snacks will only give them a bit of a boost. However, this also means that your pets won’t want to eat a big meal when they’re almost full. So now you’ll need to be more selective when choosing what to serve your pets!

Stay tuned to my column on Saturday, June 13th and I’ll reveal MORE about filling the Pet Care Heart!

So, fellow detectives, what do YOU think about Webkinz X so far? Let me know in the comments below!

Awesome! I was sure that the change would make Webkinz not as fun as it was or maybe even harder, but instead this seems like it will make Webkinz way easier.

Not looking forward to this, I don’t take care of my pets now because it takes too much effort and money. And if it’s mandatory, then I doubt I will go on Webkinz much.

Wow…The more they reveal the more I’m speechless! I knew it meters but I didn’t exactly know how it was going to work, but interacting with your pets even more? Awesome! I like Webkinz the way it is, but after seeing this it’ll probably draw in some new and old Webkinz fans back. (which would be great!) I’ve played Webkinz almost my entire life and I never wanted to quit unless they brought back REALLY old rares, or did a new change which would ruin the game, which it HAS been tempting to quit with all the rares they brought back (brought back, retire, brought back, retire, make up your mind!), but Webkinz means a lot to me so I dealt with it. (and I have over 200 pets that would be unhappy with me. xD) A lot of my family members have quit because they thought it was limited, but they do care about their plushies of their pets, (who wouldn’t? their so cute!) another main reason was deluxe, when they took away family deluxe deals that’s when my older family members quit because they couldn’t afford to pay deluxe for their children and play it as well. (it gets expensive…) I wish Ganz would bring it back for poor people who can’t afford deluxe every month, they would make more money! (more deluxe deals = more players(or old players coming back) = more people buying pets and e-store items = more money.) and e-store items…I don’t even want to get into that, lol! Anyway, I hope this change isn’t for the worst, but for the BEST of Webkinz.

Wow this sounds like a lot of fun! Interacting with our pets seems the #1 reason to play webkinz in the first place!! =D

Wow… I don’t really know what to say. It’s… cool, what they’re doing, but I don’t really like the new energy meter, and all the stuff that comes with it. The new meal stuff is cool… I had though about it once, but now, I don’t know. Usually when I buy food I’m in a hurry, and being selective COULD slow me down. I’m not sure about this exactly now… but everything else… AWESOME!

I miss how webkinz used to be tbh

Okay, so this is pretty much what everyone expected for this icon. I like the idea that food will be updated–it’s weird when you feed your pet a large meal and their hunger meter only moves a few points….I keep thinking about the comment about Webkinz X being “more rewarding.” Does this mean that prizes for daily care are changing? And there was something about having more pets being more rewarding….kinda reminds me of Webkinz Friends–the bigger your pet family, the happier your pets were–and that meant more kc bonuses. It looks kind of like there are elements from WK Friends and Amazing World being incorporated into WW. Hmm……….can’t wait to find out!

I’m reserving judgement but so far it sounds like it’s going to be a nightmare to take care of your pet if say, you’ve only got one pet to begin with and you need to spend an inordinate amount of time doing one of the lengthy game challenges. I’ll wait and see.

This was one of my 1st thoughts, as well. Feed one’s pet(s) 10 chocolate bars, or some other food, that takes them down in health/happiness is hard enough already, especially on an account with only a few or one pet. The thought of possible forthcoming glitches gives me the shudders.

    • ImaPepper says:

Hmm…maybe if you only have one pet and you give him/her a nap while you go to the Magical Forest, do an activity or play a game in the arcade or something, it will be enough to restore your pet’s energy meter. Ooh, maybe you could rearrange your pet’s room while he or she is napping…?
