Fluffington’s Garden

Fluffington here with some exciting news – in a mere 9 days, Plumpy will be getting married to Sir Charles Rhineholt in my very backyard! Can you believe it? I’m so excited. I’ve never had a wedding of my own, of course, but helping to plan this one is almost as good! First, I had the gardeners come in cut the grass. Then, I had them plant about a million flowers. Finally, I had my handyman lay down a path – and put in that gorgeous heart-shaped topiary! Oh, it’s just so beautiful! We’re going to enjoy eating indoors, and then come back outside for dancing and the bouquet toss. Plumpy hasn’t seen the garden yet, but let me know what you think!

Dr. Quack Sings!

Have you ever been so nervous that you’ve had butterflies in your stomach? Well, that happened to me today. It was finally my turn to audition for Kinzville Sings! And boy, was I ever panicky. I know I’m a pretty good singer – ever since I was a duckling, everyone has said, “Quincy, you sing better than 90% of the ducks out there!” But what about the other 10%? They’re the ones I always worry about. Anyway. Back to my audition. I took to the stage and looked out at the judges nervously. I introduced myself (I think they all knew who I was), and I told them I was going to sing a rock song. Several of them giggled. The others looked like they were trying really hard not to. OK, so maybe I don’t LOOK like a rock star (although I WAS wearing ripped jeans and a t-shirt), but I kind of sound like one. Anyway, I sang the song as well as I could. I even threw in a few dance moves! And guess what? Suddenly, the judges didn’t look like they were going to laugh anymore. No! In fact, they looked really, really…impressed! I wasn’t … Read more

I’m pretty excited, and I have a TON of stuff planned for us to do. Cowabelle: Believe it or not, I’m going to visit my good friend Dacey Bryn on the set of her NEW movie! I cannot wait. We’re going to have the best time. Roberta: I’m sticking around Kinzville, because you never know when my mom is going to have the baby! We’ve got lots to do to get ready, so this is sure to be an exciting summer. Stoogles: My family has a ton of interesting things planned. Summer Craft: Ice Cream Necklace

Roberta Rabbit here with an awesome summer craft! I’m going to show you how to make an ice cream cone necklace – it’s cute and fun! What you need: Brown cardstock paper, craft glue, gold sparkles, round beads in pastel colors, small round red bead (optional), flat head pins, needle-nose pliers, string, extra beads (optional)   What you do: Cut out a 1.5 inch circle from the brown cardstock. Make a slice halfway to the middle point, like this: 2. Starting at the cut, wrap the circle around to make a cone. Glue it as you do this. 3. Trim the top of the cone. Make a swirl of glue around the cone and dip the cone in gold sparkles, if you like. 4. Stick your flat-head pin through the base of the cone (the flat part should be at     the tip of the cone). Stick one or two beads on top of it. 5.Use the needle-nose pliers to make a loop at the top of the flat-head pin (you can get a grown up to help with this). 6.Put the ice cream cone on a piece of string and add extra beads, if you like. 7.Tie the two … Read more

Something Old, Something New…

Hey Everyone! Nibbles here. Can you believe Plumpy’s wedding is coming up in only 15 days? I can’t wait to be a bridesmaid! Anyway, I was talking to Plumpy today and she realized: she needs something old and something new, something borrowed and something blue. It’s a tradition in our family! So we went through the list. First, the old: she’s going to wear my grandma’s dress, so that definitely counts. Next, something new: she has brand new earrings – whew! Something borrowed: I told Plumpy she could borrow my lucky rock. She said she’d tuck it under the sash on the dress. Finally, something blue: This one took us a minute, but then Plumpy realized: she’s the blue! So it looks like everything is all ready! I can’t wait for the big day!

Plumpy’s Wedding: Cake Design

Hey everyone! Can you believe my wedding is only 16 days away! It’s true! And since my dear friend Chef Sophia is in charge of the cake, it was high time for Charles and I to visit her and see about flavors and designs! Fortunately for us, Chef Sophia had brought along a ton of samples. We tried a little bit of everything, but out absolute favorite was chocolate cake with Stubbly Grass Nibble ganache and a delicate maple buttercream. It sounds a bit wacky, but the flavors work together perfectly! After picking the flavor, we had to choose a design. I don’t know about you, but I’ve never really thought about what a cake LOOKS like before. I’m all about the taste!  But Sophia sketched out a bunch of pictures and said I could take them home and think about them. So I’ve narrowed my options down to these four. I’d love your opinion! Let me know which one you like the best!

Salley’s BIG Plan

Hey everyone! Salley Cat here with some awesome news – my plans for the end-of-the-year trip are actually coming together really well! So well, in fact, that even Purr-Cilla said they sounded like fun. Crazy, right? But it’s true. Here’s what I’m thinking we’ll do: On June 23, we’ll take a bus into the Big City. We’ll spend the day going to a museum, strolling through the park, and then seeing a theater show at night. There are so many musicals there – I don’t know which one we’ll end up at, but I know it’ll be good! We’ll spend the night in a very fancy hotel. How can we afford that? Easy! My mom found out that Fluffington owns a hotel in the city, and when she told him about our trip, he said he’d be happy to give us a discounted rate! So we’ll be staying in five-star luxury for a one-star price! The next morning, we’re going to go to Chef Sophia’s sister’s restaurant for breakfast. After that, we’ll get back on the bus and head home. What do you think? Best end-of-the-year trip ever, or what?

Alex Tiger: Cheering from a Distance

Hey everyone, Alex here. Know how the entire town is practicing for the big show? Well, I guess I understand why – I mean, they all want to be famous, right? The thing is – I don’t. I don’t want to perform ANYTHING in front of ANYONE. And it’s almost like no one understands that. I tried explaining it to Sparky, but he just said, “C’mon, Alex! Don’t you want everyone to know who you are?” No! That sounds terrible! I don’t want that at all! You know, unless it’s because I discover something amazing or come up with a new theory or formula. Then, sure! But how many scientists have to perform in front of a live studio audience? I think I’ll stick to what I’m good at: rocks, science, and cheering my friends on from a safe distance.

Molly Pig: Future Superstar?

Dear Diary, Sometimes, I like having a little sister. Like when Millie is at school or asleep. Then she’s just great. Other times, however, I just really wish I was an only child. Like today. I’ve been SUPER excited about the Kinzville Sings contest coming up – I mean, really – it’s going to be the biggest thing that’s ever happened to Kinzville. I’m a pretty good singer, and an OK dancer. I thought that with a little practice, though, I could take it to the next level. So that’s what I tried (key word is ‘tried’) to do. Until Millie came along, that is. I was singing a song I had made up, and practicing dance moves that I had seen in a music video, when Millie marched into my room and told me to knock it off. I told her it was important to practice. She said that maybe I should practice outside because my singing was giving her a headache and my dancing sounded like a herd of buffalo. I told her she should mind her own business. One thing lead to another and we ended up yelling at each other. My mom was trying … Read more

Fluffington’s Movie Theater

Hailey: Know what Fluffington is famous for?Elwin: His love of the arts?Hailey: Something else. Elwin: His fabulous parties?Hailey: Try again.Elwin: His incredible wealth? Hailey: Bingo! Yes, Fluffington is famous for being very, very wealthy. And that’s why we weren’t very surprised when he asked us to build him a theater in his basement. Elwin: A movie theater! In his basement! Hailey: Elwin and I were able to find the seats, wallpaper, flooring, standee, lights and carpet at the W Shop. But we were missing something pretty significant. Elwin: The screen. The gigantic, ginormous screen. Hailey: THAT, my dear friends, is a Rare item. Elwin: A beautiful Rare item. One that I would LOVE to have in my home theater. Hailey: Uh, Elwin? You don’t have a home theater. Elwin: Oh. Right. Well…you know, one day. When I do. Hailey: Sure. Until then, though, we can visit Fluffington and watch movies at his place. We have a standing invitation! Elwin: One of the many perks of being a Designer Elephant. I love my job.

Wiggles’ New Apartment

Elwin: Since Plumpy is going to be getting married, her best friend Wiggles is moving into a place of his own – his very own bachelor apartment! He asked us to make him a room that’s not only open and airy, but also chic and cool. Hailey and I put our heads together and this is what we came up with.     Hailey: I actually love this room! From the bare brick walls to the stainless steel appliances, it’s incredibly cool. Elwin: I agree. My favorite pieces have to be the card dividers. Wiggles is an ace poker player, so he quite liked them. Hailey: That TV is something else…I hope Wiggles invites us over for a movie night. Elwin: And the jukebox? And hand-carved statue? How awesome are those? Hailey: Very awesome. Just goes to show: you don’t need to use a theme to make a room look put together! Elwin: So true. Having a lot of Rare items doesn’t hurt, though, does it? Hailey: Definitely not.

Ancient Civilization Theme

There’s something to be said for simplicity, and that’s probably why I like the Ancient Civilization theme so much! It works with such a basic palette, but looks so striking. See what I mean?     The flooring and walls are a lovely muted gray/grayish blue color. This works perfectly with the rich wooden tables and chest, and the deep purple upholstery. The bright red shields on the wall are the ideal accent in this lovely, understated room. Now, I have to say that Elwin and I don’t exactly agree on how wonderful this theme is. I LOVE it. His comment? “It needs more color.” Some designers just don’t appreciate subtlety. What do you think of this theme, friends?

Whimsical Wonderland Theme

Elwin here with a Rare theme I hope you’ll love as much as I do: the Whimsical Wonderland theme!  As you all know, I tend to like decorating with…let’s say, wilder colors and elements. When the Whimsical Wonderland theme came out, I couldn’t believe my eyes – this was exactly what I had been waiting for! A theme so wacky, so wild – it was perfect!     Anyway, I created a room a while back for a client of mine. I really liked it, so I kept a picture for my portfolio. I love every part of this room – from the heart wallpaper to the indoor garden. How many pets can say that they’ve got an INDOOR garden? The vibrant colors are just fabulous, and I have a soft spot in my heart for the bubble-blowing caterpillar. What piece of this theme do you like best, my friends?

Medieval Room Theme

Elwin here with another awesome Rare room theme to share! It’s one of my all-time favorites: the Medieval theme!   I created this room for a client who happened to love all things medieval. This was in his basement, and he wanted it to feel like a special castle hideaway. I LOVE the long dining table (perfect for hosting royal gatherings), the knights standing on guard, the thrones (as you can see, my client’s wife enjoyed her throne immensely), and the sitting area. I also really like the bedroom, and how it’s set apart from the rest of the room by the gorgeous  dividers (I got those at the eStore). The drapes, tapestries and windows are excellent accessories, and the stone walls and floor really makes this room look like it’s from back in medieval times! If you want to build a Medieval lair of your own, read on to find out how to get Rare items!
