Groundhog Poetry
I was so excited to meet THE Groundhog today that I wrote this poem about him! Ode to a Groundhog By Roberta Rabbit On the second of February every year, A face pops out and turns to peer, Around to see if he can spot, Whether a shadow he has got. The groundhog gives us hope for spring, And whether sunshine soon shall bring, Flowers, birds and warmer days, Or more of winter’s cool, dull greys. If he sees his shadow they say, He’ll turn around and go away, Down his hole. Then things are bleak, For winter’s here for six more weeks. But if he sees no shadow there, Rejoice and for the spring prepare, For brighter skies are on the way, When we can go outside and play!

Groundhog Day Recipe
Shadow or no, this is one groundhog that won’t hang around for long. What you need: - Twix bar - Powdered doughnuts - M&Ms - M&M Minis - Candy eyeballs - Chocolate chips - Icing What you do: Using your icing as glue, stick two candy eyes onto the Twix bar near one end. Just below the eyes, stick a red M&M Mini and below that stick two brown M&Ms. When the icing has set, prop your groundhog up in its doughnut hole and using more icing, stick two chocolate chips on top for ears. This groundhog may not accurately predict how long winter will last, but we can accurately predict that you will find it delicious!
Plumpy’s Valentine
With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, I can’t help but think about my Valentine…Sir Charles Rhineholt. Charles is Webkinz World’s foremost historian. He travels, he writes, he gives lectures…basically, he knows all there is to know about the history of Webkinz World. I’m so proud of the things he’s discovered and written about, but it’s too bad that he has to travel so much – I really miss him when he’s not around. We email every day, and I talk to him on the phone a few times a week – but it’s not the same. He spent Christmas with my family, and it was just wonderful. But then, as always, I had to take him to the airport so he could head off on another speaking tour. He said he won’t be home until March, so I’ve got a whole month of emailing and phoning ahead of me. I guess I’ll have to spend Valentine’s Day with my best friend, Wiggles. Not exactly what I had in mind, but I suppose we’ll get some chocolate and watch some silly movies. Maybe Nibbles will join us when she gets back from her little party at Salley’s place. How … Read more
Alex’s Crush
Hey all, So as you know, I gave Molly a Christmas gift. What you DON’T know is that I never, ever told her it was from me. I just…chickened out, I guess. I’m worried that she won’t be very happy when she finds out that I gave her the gift. Anyway, Valentine’s Day is coming up and I already know what I’m going to get her – a box of chocolates! She LOVES chocolate, and I found the perfect box at the W Shop. I’m going to go pick it up next week. And I’m going to tell her it’s from me – but I’m going to do it in a clever way. I’m going to take all the chocolates out of the box and write a code on the bottom. I’ll put the chocolates back into the box and, as she eats them, she’ll see the code underneath! Then she’ll break it and figure out it’s me! Isn’t that clever? And if she can’t figure out the code, I’m off the hook. She doesn’t find out it’s me, and I can stop panicking every time I see her in … Read more
THEY Deserved a Vacation?
Can you believe those ‘Kinz? Gallivanting off to the tropical island for the weekend while I, Purr-Cilla, am stuck back in freezing cold Kinzville. Not. Fair. One thing January has taught me is that if I want something, it’s up to me to get it. Whether that’s a tropical vacation (if only I’d befriended Dacey when I had the chance!) or the presidency at the Kinzville Academy. I’m going to do my best to get what I want this year. The first thing: I’m going to make this year’s Valentine’s Day Dance better than ever before. How? You’ll have to wait and see. But let’s just say: there will be lots of fairy magic in use!
Dacey’s Surprise
You guys will never, ever believe what’s happened: Dacey called me after school tonight. This is what she said: Cowabelle, answer your door. It’s cold out here. So I did. And she was standing right there, on my doorstep! I started crying, I was so happy to see her. She hugged me and said she was sorry for not emailing or calling me lately. She said the reason was because she wanted to surprise me and she was worried that if she spoke to me, she would give away the surprise. And guess what the surprise is? Tickets to the Tropical Island! And not just for me – but for ALL of my friends, the ‘Kinz! And Dacey! She’s filming a scene in her new movie there this weekend, and she said she thought it would be absolutely perfect if we all went together. I can’t believe it!
Warm Fuzzies
Valentine’s Day is coming up and Millie needed something cute to give to her friends in kindergarten. After going through our art box, we figured out how to make some adorable warm fuzzies! You can make some of your own – they’re really easy! What you need: Pompoms, sticky-backed felt, craft glue, wiggle eyes, pipe cleaner (cut into thirds), strips of paper, black marker What you do: Stick the pipe cleaner piece through your pompom. Cut out a heart shape from your sticky-backed felt. Leave the paper on the sticky part. Glue the pompom to the fuzzy part of the heart. The sticker part should be facing downwards. Glue the wiggle eyes onto your pompom. On the strip of paper, write a Valentine’s message. Glue the paper to your fuzzy’s ‘hands’ (the pipe cleaner). When all the glue is dry, give your warm fuzzy to a friend. They can stick it on a desk or paper (or anywhere, really) by peeling the sticker paper off the sticky part of the felt.
