In the next few weeks we will be posting concepts drawings for the Decade Dragon as the artists take the beautiful drawing sent in by 4accounts and turn it into an actual Webkinz!
Well, I am very sad that I didn’t get up there but hey, who likes a sore loser? :) I REALLY, REALLY, REALLY love the Astro Horse!!! I also adore the Pandora Cub and all the dragons! I do like them all though. Crossing my fingers that the lovely Astro Horse wins! However I will buy any of these when it comes out LOL!

hey don’t be so down on yourself, everyone is creative! so you didn’t make it this time, but whats important is: did you have fun making your design, and are you proud of your work even if it wasn’t exactly what Ganz was looking for? Yeah, personally my favorites were the Birthday Bear and Arcade Cub.. Though.. just by the looks of the Pandora Cub. It is exactly what they wanted. If I was going to bet on it, I would bet on the Pandora Cub, even if it isn’t my favorite.

Yeah, congrats! I was soooo bummed. I had over twenty to enter, but I didn’t see the deadline time was eastern, and I was like 15 minutes too late! These are totally amazing. How are we to choose? I like them all and they should all be made into pets. But what is Ganz looking for? Is it something shouting 10th Anniversary? That might narrow it a bit. This is tough. I have to ponder this more. Great job everyone who entered. It was lots of fun!
The only disappointing thing about the design a pet contest is that the winning pet will be virtual only. :( The Confetti Celebration Cat, Birthday Bear, Birthday Cake Bear, Astro Horse, and the Fairy Dragon are ones I really would like to see as a plush, or some variation of them as long as it’s not a pup. :) Pittiesrule

Also, I apologize for my first comment. I’m just a little sad. I’m happy for these winners, and all of the top ten are great, but I guess I was too enthusiastic about my drawings. I honestly thought one of mine would make it. I tried making all of my 6 drawings centered on the “anniversary” theme. I also worked on a dragon yesterday and made a PSI, PSF and everything for it. So, I’m sorry if I seem gloomy or anything like that, I guess I just get myself too confident, that’s all.

I feel the same way… I felt so excited about my pictures especially about my horse and cat, I felt as though as I was confident that at least one of mine would get in the top 10 but hehe I guess we are in the same boat I am so glad that at least someone else feels as I do! I’m in the same situation. I entered 4 and I thought my Vampire Pegasus, Tangerine Bear, 10th Anniversary Heart Dragon, And Polka Dragon were all cool, original ideas. But they got low ratings. I love the top ten though! I hope the Astro Horse, Pandora Cub, or 10th Anniversary Dragon win!

Woofwoofwoof, my dad keeps telling me my designs are too subtle, and to make bolder, bigger patterns. (Which is actually very hard if you have a good design!) I think that’s why you didn’t make it??
well i guess you could be right quedsaperson but the judges are looking for creativity and stuff that is original!! sure i stole the idea from webkinz and just stuck is on an animal but i think it is still pretty original. plus it is very creative i put the rose bushes from the park on her feet, hair and tail!!! but i guess you right at least i know what there looking for for next year. also a day after tHE deadline i thought of the perfect, unique, creative, webkinz ish, cool, artistic idea that would have blown thee judges away (not literately) but it was to late well at least i know what i’m going to do next year!! but i better write down the idea (so i don’t forget) and lock it up (mainly so that i don’t loose it) better start practicing for next year (obviously i spent day and night on mine so now i cant remember what i use to do)
I hear you, i know a few people who used white out. I personally had to use acrylic paint to get that pop i wanted with the yellow.

I love all of these ideas. I’ll point out something I like about each of these. Decade Dragon-I like the colors used and the wings. Astro Horse-I love the gradient color and the mane. Anniver-star-y Kitten-I like the name that’s a play on words and the concept of a star kitten itself. Cute. Pandora Cub-I like how it is so neat and colorful. I like the word choice used on the cub. Birthday Cake Bear-I just thought this was a really cute bear and I love the sprinkles print. Fairy Dragon-Once again, I like the gradient colors. I like the added touches to the head and wings. 10th Anniversary Dragon-I like how it’s colored in so neatly, and the print goes with the theme perfectly. Arcade Cub-I love the bright colors. They really stand out, and the name goes well for the pet. Birthday Bear-I like the face how it is solid tan and then lighter with sprinkles in the middle of the face. I also like the cupcake on the head. Confetti Celebration Cat-This is a fantastic idea. The confetti looks fantastic, and I’ve thought a Celebration Cat would be a great idea for a while. Good job everyone and congratulations! It would be awesome if Webkinz could make more than just one pet from this contest!

The 10th Anniversary Dragon reminds me of mine, and wasn’t this drawing the one that was in the video of a few that caught their eyes before. Anyway fantastic job to everyone and congratulations! Although of course this dragon by alaska267 is way better then mine. Anyway, I hope ganz as another one of these contests again but it should run longer. The past contests I barely get my drawings in, in time so people don’t have enough time to look that them and don’t get to see many of others either. I was disappointed about the birthday bear too. I think for the last four they wanted one of each type like one horse bear cat and dragon. Well, I still liked the Birthday Bear better than the Birthday Cake Bear (but to be honest, I liked mine better, too), and I thought the Birthday Bear was better than mine. Of course, the Pandora Cub was really good, but I really liked that Birthday Bear. And I hope we can get a virtual version of the pet too, alaska267, but the Decade Dragon wasn’t one of my favorites. Thanks! I’m pretty sure the people and GANZ and I have very different tastes. I did my 4 designs based on places or things I liked about Webkinz. The Webkinz Diamond Dragon was inspired by the Curio Shop, the Fashion Feline was inspired by the Kinzstyle Shop/Outlet, the Arcade Cub was inspired by the Arcade (durr), and the Road Trip Pony was inspired by Webkinz Road Trips (also durr). I didn’t really think I was going to win. Besides, if I did, then I’d be disappointed. I’m not sure I could teach anyone how to draw, because I don’t really use many specific techniques, and when I do, I usually mess up a ton. The technique I use the most is drawing the “skeleton” of whatever I’m drawing, which tends to help, but I usually end up making the head way too big, the feet too small, and the legs too long and scrawny. :Þ Sometimes I can fix it, though. I don’t think I’m very good at coloring with colored pencils, so I usually sketch out a drawing, then color it and refine it on the computer. By the way, I have a fair amount of drawings on the Share Center in the Fan Art, if you want to check them out. #ShamelessAdvertising My favorite drawing style is Anime, but I also do sketches and weird random cartoony stuff. And my favorite things to draw are probably Webkinz, just about any kind of wolf-like canine, and Pokemon (although it’s been kind of a while, since I’m not that good at it). My dream-job would probably be drawing comic books and/or graphic novels (which are really just large comic books anyway), because I like drawing characters and then putting them in stories, and in comic books/graphic novels, it doesn’t need to focus so much on one character, have one of the characters narrate, or look as much like it’s someone telling a story. It seems more like it’s actually happening at the time. Okay, I’m gonna cut off my rambling here, and apologize for the extreme lengthiness of this comment. (^_-)-☆

Wait, I just noticed something. Goldstar2′s name is capitalized, but mine isn’t, and neither is anyone else’s (even if their names begin with letters). I mean, I know I capitalized my name. Hm. On the chin there, with the blue coloring, there are darker blue little stars, in case you couldn’t see them. I think they kept the best ones. I’m surprised at how long the Birthday Cake Bear stayed. I am also surprised that the Fairy Dragon left…..well, actually it makes sense. You see, the Astro Horse is amazing, and the Fairy Dragon whimsical, but they aren’t tenth anniversary or even Webkinz inspired, therefore making them not quite as worthy of winning. The Pandora Cub isn’t my favorite design as design based on nothing else goes, but design based on tenth anniversary for Webkinz makes this one a WINNER. I bet it’ll win. Wow! Such good designs were put in this contest. I’m happy that the Webkinz decade dragon was chosen. Good job 4accounts! I think that the favourite food for the decade dragon should be a Webkinz 10 biscuit and the favourite item should be a flying Webkinz 10 couch!
