Choose Your Own Story – Booger enters the Time Machine

Booger stepped into the Time Machine. On one side was a control panel that was covered in dust. Booger realized that Goober must have discovered the Time Machine or inherited it from one of his Scientist Cronies, because the markings on it looked very old – too old to have been invented by Goober. As he peered at the collection of faded buttons he saw that much of the writing had worn away.

There was a large lever marked ‘POV  FR’. Booger stared at it for a moment before discerning that probably the word had originally been ‘POWER” before some of the letters had rubbed away. Booger took a deep breath and pushed the lever.

With a loud roar, the door slammed shut and the console started flashing. Panicked, Booger pushed at the door but it was locked tight. He realized there was no way out except to try using the console. Booger couldn’t read any of the writing on the switches, but two large buttons suddenly lit up and glowed menacingly at him.  Side by side in the middle of the console, were a red light with the letters ‘F J   UPF’ on it, and a green light with the word, ‘F ST’. Booger didn’t know what the words meant, but something told him that if he was going to get out of this predicament he would have to press one of those two buttons.

Booger closed his eyes and pushed one of the buttons. A loud humming filled his ears and the Time Machine began to rock back and forth. Suddenly there was a loud bang and with a massive shudder, the Time Machine jerked to a stop. Through a haze of grey smoke, Booger could see that the door was open. As he stepped out of the machine, suddenly his mind went blank. He couldn’t remember where he was…
