What if you don’t do new years resolutions? I guess you just add what they would be, if you did?

Oh what a great pet! It’s interesting.. the first virtual only pet to be the Pet of the Month, as far as I remember. But I guess since there’s no plush out anyway (not including those new sparkly eyed plush) so it doesn’t matter. Anyway, it’s a cool pet and I hope I can get it!

I love entering these contests, but always have a hard time with the math question at the bottom. You never include parentheses, so I have to look up the Order of Operations every time. Frequently I get the answer wrong (I’m not great at math). I am unsure of whether my contest entry was accepted with the wrong answer to the math question. I kept trying new answers and then got a message saying that I had already entered the contest with a wrong answer. Does that mean my entry was accepted or not? Please do away with these math questions, which may keep many of us (especially younger players) from successfully entering the contests!

    • Sally Webkinz says:

The math questions are a legal requirement and will not be removed. Successful completion of the math question on the first attempt is a requirement for valid entry.

So does this mean that if I am bad at math and get the answer wrong, I am not able to enter the contest? This does not seem fair. This is not advertised as a math skills contest, it is supposed to be an entry in which everyone has an equal chance at winning due to the winner being picked at random. At the least, we should be able to keep entering until we get the math question correct. Or perhaps you could make the question a little easier so that everyone has an opportunity to enter. Can you explain the legal requirement? It seems to me that the level of the math question is about middle school algebra; is this to keep younger children from being able to enter the contest?

        • Sally Webkinz says:

In order to not be considered a lottery, a skill-testing question is required by Canadian law. Legally, all minors require assistance from guardians to enter contests. These are part of the rules you agree to when you enter the contest.

          • Nickelcat says:

I understand the need for the skill testing question based on Canadian law. Since that requirement cannot be changed, can you at least add parentheses to make the equations more understandable, as in (9 x 3) – (4 + 23) as opposed to the confusing 9 x 3 – 4 + 23. Or how about making the skill test a little easier, as in 5 + 5 = ?

          • cutiepie0225 says:

Adding in the brackets that you suggested would give you the wrong answer since that changes the question… If you’re worried about the skill testing question just ask someone for help. Multiplication/division would always come first and then addition/subtraction in whatever order they’re presented. Remember in BEDMAS the DM and AS are counted as the same level with whichever order they’re in.

That is NOT middle school algebra. It’s a simple 3rd grader question. I would know if it’s middle school algebra or not since I’m in middle school.

I don’t have a email linked to my account how do I link one?

And also, I’ve always wondered why these contests are only open to people residing in the U.S.A and Canada. I know I already live in the U.S.A, but I still wonder. Does anyone know?

I’m sorry to sound dumb, but what IS a new year’s resolution?
