Back to School Recipe: Homemade Hummus

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

What you need:

-          2 cups canned garbanzo beans, drained

-          1/2 cup tahini*

-          1/4 cup lemon juice

-          1 teaspoon salt

-          two crushed garlic cloves

What you do:

1. Combine all ingredients in a blender and mix until smooth.

2. Serve hummus with pita triangles and carrot and celery sticks.

* Tahini is a paste made of sesame seeds. It’s available in the Asian food section of most grocery stores.

    I love hummus it is so good but i have never had homemade i have just had store bought from walmart or dillons or sams.

    I was about to make hummus today. How interesting. I soak them though. I’m not allowed to have canned foods. And I try to stay away from cooked food, but that’s not possible. Lol.

            Yeah. I make these Pumpkin Cookies (SO YUMMY!!! :D ) every Winter, and they taste so good!
            But the thing is, they don’t look good. They look like a blob, LOL! And I make caramel frosting to
            put on top of them. ;)

            I don’t recommend it. I’ve tried it and it is GROSS. It tastes exactly how I imagine gunk would taste, maybe even that recipe you make using gunk; creme de rein. But that’s just my opinion. And LillyLuvie, my mom makes “PumpkinRolls”, which sound rather yucky, but they are SOOOO good. They are SweetRolls with with pumpkin mixed in, but you really can’t tell that the pumpkin is there. I bet your cookies are yummy! Have fun making them!
