Booger’s Big Changes

So Goober took me home from Dr. Quack’s and said that we had to start making some changes. Ugh – thanks a lot, Dr. Quack!

Goober explained about making sure that I got lots of different types of food with each meal. I’m supposed to make sure and have a lot of fruits and vegetables (this is going to be torture!), a small portion of protein – that’s like meat and eggs and fish (blech!) – and whole grains, which means rice or whole wheat pasta or bread. Whole wheat? Who wants whole wheat? I like white bread – the whiter the better! I’m also supposed to eat dairy stuff like milk and cheese and yogurt.

I told Goober that cheese puffs seem like a good balance of dairy and grains to me. Seriously – what’s wrong with that?

Goober says I need to make sure that I have a mixture of everything on my plate at mealtime, and that the more colors I see on my plate the better.

When I said that if I had jelly beans for dinner I’d get lots of colors he didn’t even laugh. Geez. Ever since we got back from Dr. Quack’s Goober has been really touchy.

Touchy? Goober is NOT being “touchy,” Booger. He’s trying to HELP you! H-E-L-P YOU! Listen to Goober and Dr. Quack! And good point, puppyluver, Dr. Quack IS the one with the degree.

Hey Booger, surely you haven’t always eaten all this junk food, or you’d be the size of a house! When did you become so fusssssssssssssy. Make a list of all the foods you like or are willing to try again. Then maybe Goober will be a little easier on you and compromise.

Eat the rainbow- but not skittles. I think exercise is more important though

      • Oh my goodness, STOP! says:

Northwestern here. Booger, really? Your older brother is trying to help you. If I did that, do you realize how much trouble I’d be in? Stop it at once!

I think that going to Dr. Quacks was the best idea Goober has ever had. Booger really needs to
start eating healthy! ;) Lots of fruit and veggies! Yum! :D I happen to LUV whole wheat bread, and
          I dislike white bread!

Wow. At least he acually went to see Dr. Quack. Northwestern, I agree. I’d be in so much trouble if I did that.

Well, I agree with you Spots. The exercise is more important than your food intake. People make a big deal about eating grains, wheat, dairy, protein…. Sure it’s really important, but even with healthy foods and no exercise you can get chubby. And people with dairy allergies can’t eat the dairy everyone makes a fuss about, and Celiac Disease sufferers can’t eat much of the bottom of the pyramid. I just think exercise should be Booger’s top priority right now, and he should ease into the food (like, three bites of a veggie per meal, one whole veggie, a small section [on a sectioned plate], etc).

            BTW, I love veggies. Delicious.

He’s probably too sick to realize how much trouble he’s in. :P
