Dacey’s Mansion Makeover: Dining Room

Dacey’s Dining Room (Before)

Hailey here with our latest Bryn-mansion redesign! Today’s big challenge was the dining room. Ms. Bryn said she didn’t like ANYTHING about the old room, except the floor and the pillar in the corner. Beyond that, she told us to take everything out and start over. She wanted elegance and clean lines; the old dining room was definitely more about mismatched charm and color.

Dacey’s Dining Room (After)

Elwin and I worked really hard to create a design that we thought she’d like – and we were successful (hooray!). She especially adored the piano and the wall chandelier. It was a big job, but I think the dining room is definitely elegant. What do you think, friends?

Mrs. Bryn probably does some entertaining so the piano is to provide background music during a dinner party. Since the table is to small for a party of 6 or more i imange thery are catered, with the caters bringing other tables in. Still think it would look better with two more pillers and no clock. jennifer

i like the old room better. The piano and fireplace are the only good things about this room.

I like it but it needs more color. I would have added some reds to it. Maybe the wall or the fireplace.

I love everything about this room! Mostly it’s the fireplace and table that i really like plus the tea thing over in the corner the piano is really pretty and i would love to have it but why in the dining room? I mean I probably would put a piano in my dining room too but now that i’m thinking about it do people in mansions or really nice houses acually eat and listen to the piano? Probaly not. But I love the room

It’s nice. The clock is a touch out of place, though. Question: Do people leave all this furniture in their houses when they sell it? I can understand showing, but I always thought that they took stuff with them.
