Dacey’s Dining Room (Before)
Hailey here with our latest Bryn-mansion redesign! Today’s big challenge was the dining room. Ms. Bryn said she didn’t like ANYTHING about the old room, except the floor and the pillar in the corner. Beyond that, she told us to take everything out and start over. She wanted elegance and clean lines; the old dining room was definitely more about mismatched charm and color.

Elwin and I worked really hard to create a design that we thought she’d like – and we were successful (hooray!). She especially adored the piano and the wall chandelier. It was a big job, but I think the dining room is definitely elegant. What do you think, friends?

The thing is, with the white & light furniture, I would be scared to eat there, I might spill something! And the grand piano? Very fancy IN A DINING ROOM!!!!! But, I still like both, and both would need a bit of changing then it would be fine. And it also depends on what the rest of your house looks like, right?
I WANT THAT PIANO!!!!!! (And the fireplace, and the chandelier, and the fireplace, and the table and the clock…) I WANT EVERYTHING IN THAT ROOM!!!!!!

This room is very fancy. I’m not so sure it would fit an average family’s lifestyle. Especially the piano! I understand if you play the piano, but I would have chosen a different piano and a different room to put it in. Sure, the after looks better, but when I first looked at it, it reminded me of a very fancy and expensive restraunt. If Haley and Elwin would have just kept a slick, modern approach to the room, it probably would have turned out better. -Stardom
Wow, I like it….I don’t usually care for Hailey and Elwin’s work.I find most of their rooms unimaginative and a bit lacking in color.But I like this room, a matter a fact I like it a lot! ~Random reader
