Different types of clubs

Some types of clubs you and your friends could start might be:

A baking/cooking club

Remember that cookie swap we’ve been planning at the Kinzville Academy? That’s just the sort of thing you could do if you and your friends started a baking or cooking club. Try out new recipes together and share dishes that you’ve cooked up. Remember to keep track of recipes you’ve tried and whether they were a ‘Yeah!’ or a ‘Blech!’

A book club

Share your favorite books with your friends and discover some of the books and authors they love. It can be really interesting to discuss books you’ve read – sometimes someone else’s point of view lets you see things in a whole new light. Make a note of whether you enjoyed a particular book. You’ll start to get a feel for each others’ tastes so you can make recommendations based on your friends’ likes and dislikes.

A collectors’ club

Is there something you and your friends like collecting, like comic books, stamps or coins? With a collectors’ club you can pool your collections, trade items and search out new pieces. A collectors’ club is a great way to share your knowledge and learn from your friends. You can also share resources like books or websites relating to your collections.

Environmental/Philanthropic club

Is there a cause that is close to you? Do you and your friends want to make the world a better place? Join forces to make a difference. You could start a cleanup crew to pick up trash in your local park, or make a lemonade stand to raise money for charity. Keep a log of good deeds your club has done. Set yourselves goals and try to come up with innovative ways to help your community.

A craft club

Do you love to paint, draw or make things with your hands? A craft club can offer an outlet for a wide variety of artistic endeavors. You and your friends could choose one large project to work on together, or share resources to make a variety of crafts. Whether you’re woodworking, scrapbooking or sewing, surrounding yourself with creativity will inspire you. Swap creations with one another or turn your clubhouse into a mini-museum to display your work.

Hey, could there be one for marine biologists I LOVE the ocean, but I don’t know any one else that loves it even near as much as I do! But, alas, I guess that just means I have to help it using my own unique ideas, alone.
