Ella McWoof: Today I’m here with one of Kinzville’s most well-known designers: Hailey!
Hailey: Oh, Ella! I don’t know if I’m THAT well known!
Ella: According to my sources, you are! Hailey, you’ve been in the decorating biz for a few years now, am I correct?
Hailey: Yes, my brother and I have both been running the Designer Elephants, our decorating business. We’re pretty happy about how popular it has become!
Ella: I heard you’ve been hired by the likes of Fluffington St. Bernard – is that true?
Hailey: You heard correctly! Fluffington is actually one of our best clients. And his great-aunt Meriwether, of course.
Ella: What would you say has been the hardest job you’ve ever done?
Hailey: Probably any job at Fluffington’s mansion. It’s just so immaculate – you want to make sure you don’t mess anything up!
Ella: And what is your most favorite job?
Hailey: It’s so hard to choose a favorite…but one job that sticks out in my mind was helping to redecorate Dr. Quack’s home office. It was an absolute mismatched mess when I first got there, but Elwin and I worked hard and came up with a design that really worked. And one that he liked!
Ella: Is it difficult to find the happy medium? Between what’s fashionable and what your clients like?
Hailey: It depends on the client. Sometimes, yes. If the client has very…unique taste…or if they don’t like change, it can be a challenge to convince them to redo a room.
Ella: When did you know you wanted to become a designer?
Hailey: When I was about eight. I’m eighteen now, and I’ve just finished high school. Elwin and I plan on going to college to learn more about design, and keeping our business on the side. It’s a pretty awesome gig; being able to go to school for what we love, and being able to actually DO it as well.
Ella: Is it hard to work with your brother?
Hailey: Elwin and I are twins and we’re really good friends as well. I can usually tell what he’s thinking before HE knows! Even though we have fairly different design sensibilities, we can usually work out our differences!
Ella: I have five quick questions for you. Ready?
Hailey: Sure!
Ella: Favorite food?
Hailey: Peanut butter parfait. YUM!
Ella: Favorite color?
Hailey: All of them! Actually, I tend to like more muted colors. No one really appreciates the nuances of brown and beige!
Ella: Favorite family member?
Hailey: My twin brother, Elwin!
Ella: Favorite place to vacation?
Hailey: Vacation? What’s that? I haven’t been on one in years. I’ve always wanted to go on a hike up Mount ‘Kinz, though.
Ella: If you had a million KinzCash, you would:
Hailey: Jump for joy! Expand our business and hire some more up-and-coming designers.
Ella: Thanks for chatting with me today, Hailey! We’ll leave our readers with just a few of the fantastic rooms you’ve created!
Interveiwing hailey was a great idea! Does she still miss Elwin? >>cathouse2
She`s 18,WOW!!!! I`m 15 and a half and going into my second year of high school.Anyway I LOVE THOSE ROOMS!!!!!
Cool, I didn’t know Hailey was 18 either. I never really thought about her age actually. Well with all the money her and Elwin are making with their very successful business, going to college shouldn’t be a financial problem. I think you should go to college, Hailey, you can learn a lot more there about interior design then in high school. Good luck with your future Hailey, and thank you for interviewing her Ella!
