The other day Alex was talking about his best friend, April, and an essay he was writing about her in school. That got me thinking about a story my Uncle Arte told me about how he lost a friend, and the importance of sharing in a friendship.
My Uncle Arte lost his best friend, Doug, because when they discovered the mines, Uncle Arte wanted to share the gems with everyone in Kinzville, but Doug wanted to keep all the gems to himself.
Uncle Arte knew that sharing the mines would make everyone in Kinzville happy and I think that being a true friend means putting your friends’ happiness before your own personal gain. By keeping the gems to himself, Doug was saying that they were more important to him than his friends. I really like Doug – he’s my friend too, but I wish he could see that when you share something with your friends you can all enjoy it together. And that’s a lot more fun than sitting alone in your room with some old gems.
Having nice things is cool, but it’s not nearly as important as the people in your life. I always think about Uncle Arte’s story when I have a new game or some candy from the W Shop and the first thing I want to do is go and find one of my friends. Because I always find that games are more fun and candy tastes better when I’m sharing. What do you think?
i am going into a portable next year they are cold in the winter and hot in the summer argh
Oh my goodness I totally agree with this story it gives me good thoughts and my mom would totally luv this story
And yet Arte doesn’t have a problem over charging and trying to trick people into paying more for stuff in the curio shop than they can get it for in the Webkinz shop. I guess friends come in different ways..
i wans had a freind who only cared about her self. when i was hungry she would give me a little snack witch i was thankful for that but she would have a big meal and eat it right in front of me. enstead of sharing with me she would give the stuff that she has to someone else even though she knows that i would like it to.
I think sharing is important. If you didn’t share, nobody else would share with you. So that’s why I share. SHARING MAKES THE WORLD SPIN ROUND!
You are very correct!
Help! I am going into fifth grade and I am scared! I am probably going to be seperated from my only 4 BFFS, and I AM SCARED SO PLEASE TELL ME YOUR ADVICE!
Snowwolves, the best thing i think is to just be yourself. I know it is scary to go someplace new and try to make new friends. If you just be you and smile and be friendly, you will have lots of friends soon. Hope this helps. I would totally be your friend if I was at your new school. Good luck and stop being scare and have fun this summer.
I totally agree with you. You give great advice.
If you like you could read my comment it is right below yours.
It is okay you don’t have to worry and don’t be scared. As for you only 4 friends even though you might be seperated from them don’t worry you will make new friends. I moved many times myself and I made new friends even though I miss the old ones terribly. As far as math goes, I hate math myself and do get bored of it, but I do it to get it over with and then go onto something new. As for crushes I remember that I had several when I went to 5th grade they were unbearable, but I lived through them. Don’t worry you will too. I have never did school in a portable, but I’m sure you’ll get through it alright. You’ll survive the 5th grade you’ll see. And don’t be scared. Gain confidence and when school starts that first day just walk like your the best student of the whole grade and HAVE CONFIDENCE IN YOURSELF. You can do it. I just finished 7th grade and I’m going into 8th where math is prealgebra I am kinda worried, but I remember that I have to have confidence in myself.
Advice from a 7th grader. :) :) :) :)
Im going into 9th grade. prealgebra is not hard.
I Think Having Friends And Sharing Is Way More Important Then Just Don’t Care About Them!
Hey, does anyone have some advice for me? I’m going into 5th grade, and I am scared. I am probably going to be separated from my 4 friends (MY ONLY 4 FRIENDS) I moved here last year, and I am scared because I hardly know anyone! How can I survive boredom of too much math, MORE CRUSHES ( why did I just right that!), our classroom being in a portable ( which are very boring inside and hot and stuffy. I went in one when I made up my math test), just plain HOW CAN I SURVIVE 5th GRADE? I’m scared: Plus here in Florida school starts on August 29, 30, 31 I think. Just help, PLEASE! I AM SCARED!
It is very important to share!! ~LillyLuvie* :)
I know how you feel. I’m homeschooled but I TOTALLY know how it feels to be overwhelmed. Last year when I was going into 6th grade my mom was going to enroll me in a harder home study school, I was totally scared! I thought it would be WAY too hard, then to my surprise I actually liked doing it. It was a lot better that I imagined. Now I wouldn’t want to do school without that school! So I hope this gives you some confidence and hope for 5th grade.

PS: I’m going into 7th grade. I’m a little overwhelmed too.
Its me again. Just wanted to add more advice….Look at the bright side, maybe a few of your friends will be in the same classroom as you. Also you could make new friends. At recess you should be able to be with your friends even if they’re in another classroom. You will be ok and you’ll survive! Please reply if this is of any help to you.

I just finished 7th grade. Don’t be overwhelmed it was not that bad.
OK I am going into 6th and MAYBE going to a new school in a new state. 5th grade isn’t so bad. Since you are in Florida I reccommend getting a ton on short or tank tops and shorts and if you are a girl, a lot of skirts. Try finding a public homeschooling program if your parents will allow it. I am going MAYBE from Colorado to Alaska so I will be WAY more cold than you are in Florida…Dx You may make new friends and you can still contact old friends. If you can at reccess talk and play with them, hang out, send letters, send emails, have sleepovers and a lot more things. 5th grade wasn’t too bad for me. The crush part…I don’t know…
I survived 5th grade. Nick,if u r reading this, Good Luck in 6th grade!
you will be fine! this year, at first, i knew NO one in my class, but, by the first day, I had a friend. depending on the teacher, math can be fun. be sure to wear tank tops, and bring a water bottle hope this helped! i survied, so you can survive
Emily, don’t worry about being in a portable. I was in a portable for grade 5 too and it was one of the best years I ever had! Also, savvyshopper,I’m afraid i have to tell you to enjoy elementary school while it lasts! Everyone is so much nicer there… (Although really, it’s not THAT bad, just make sure sure you’re well organized because the teachers won’t do it for you.)
Hey, emily. Listen up! :) You might think 5th grade is bad, but it is really fun!!!!! Also, I should know because I’m going into to EIGHTH GRADE!!!!!! Try to enjoy it while it lasts. The older you get, the more sleep you lose because of homework (this coming from a girl who has two AP [advanced] classes, band, piano, and martial arts).

Yes it’s important to share, Doug was being selfish. Anyone agree?
yep
Doug really shouldn’t have done that! That is way to many gems for 1 ‘Kinz! Arte was right to want to share the gems with everyone, I am glad that he made that happen. And Arte was the one who found the mines, that should give him the right to share it with anyone. Doug should have shared with the ‘Kinz of Kinzville. -Straystar♦♦♦
P.S. I wonder if Arte ever thinks about Doug anymore!
IDEAS FOR NEW PLUSH WEBKINZ! signature hippo,river otter,( i would get the river otter),armadillo,signature bat,caribou ( maybe a signature,or a new version), frilled lizard,small signature sea horse,BROWN mouse,anole lizard,and a water dragon.
I remember reading that story with Arte and Doug. It always makes me so emotional so I don’t read it alot. I like cheerfull stories much better.
why does it make you cry it is not real
I love your ideas for all these webkinz ;) I would totally get the river otter too!!!! I think it would be a wonderful idea.Hey maybe we could become friends? this one of the only ways for me to get alot more friends!!!!!!
I need to be friends with someone..I looooooooove river otters.
