Happy New Year!

Hi! It’s me, Cowabelle. I just wanted to let you know how my New Year’s party is going.

I was totally stressed yesterday because Alex called to tell me that there was a massive storm heading our way. I thought my party was going to be ruined. But Sparky’s Uncle Arte picked up everybody in his truck and saved the day!

We are all having a blast. Roberta is spinning discs as our awesome DJ. She is playing some pretty sweet tunes! You should see Sparky dancing! He is – um – well, let’s just say that he has his own distinctive style. (hee hee!)

Alex has just been hanging out by the snack table all night. I don’t know what his problem is. Everybody else is dancing and having a great time. I know Alex can be a bit shy sometimes, but I wish he would just lighten up and join in. I wonder what’s wrong. He just keeps staring at everyone as they dance. Or is he staring at SOMEone? I can’t tell. Weird.

Chef Gazpacho gave me some great simple recipes for the party. I made this yummy curry dip and Molly said she would absolutely not try it. She says she doesn’t like anything spicy. But then Sparky kind of tricked her. He dipped a piece of broccoli in my curry dip and told Molly it was chip dip. (I know – that was kind of mean, right?) But guess what? Molly really liked it! Now she is all like, ‘look at me, eating exotic foods. I am really adventurous!’ Whatever, Molls!

My mom has been totally cool. I was worried that we were being too loud with all the music and dancing and once when she came in I thought for sure she was going to ask us to keep it down, but she said she was just checking on us to make sure we are having a good time. Roberta said “Duh, she’s a school principal. It’s not like she’s not used to kids going crazy.” I guess she’s right.

Anyway, I just wanted to let you all know how much fun we’re having and I hope you’re having a great New Year too, however you plan to spend it. I just know that 2012 is going to be a great year!
