We asked what you would do if you were mayor. Read the winning entries below!
If I were the mayor of my town, I would lower the price of gas and fix up the roads. I would make more parks and tourist areas. I would save the fairgrounds and have 2 fairs per year instead of 1 fair. I would have more fun activities for the town. I would make sure that the poor and homeless have enough food and clothing and maybe even make a homeless shelter. I would make a better vet place and make make sure there was a pet shop in town. I would have a humane society and make sure the pets were cared for. In schools, I would make sure in 10 days (2 school weeks) every class would get 5/10 days with a period of gym in it. I would make sure that every one will get to learn what they need to and possibly make more class trips for the students. I will make the town fun, interesting, and have more tourists. I think it would be fun to be mayor because I could make the rules and I practically own the town. – Cait
If I were to become mayor, I would make sure everyone was treated kindly and prevent bullying, since it is becoming a problem. I would also make sure there were fun fairs for people to go to, and to lower prices on the games that people play and the price of tickets, since I think that the prices are too high. I would want to make sure there were various sport or afterschool activities for everyone to express themselves, such as practicing for a play for people who like to act, art classes for people who love to draw or paint, or even writing for a school newspaper if you like to write. I would also make a speech for people who are getting bullied and give them advice and talk to them about why they are getting bullied and talk to the bullies and figure out why they are bullying and stop the problem. If i were to help stop bullying, it would help make our world a better place one step at a time and make people happier too. I would also really want to help promote recycling to others. – Shelby
If I were mayor of my town, I would add a park in every neighborhood so it would be easier and closer for kids and their pets to go and play. I would also announce that anyone could write letters to me and I would absolutely consider them. There would be a local recycling building that can turn things that local citizens recycle into objects that could be sold. There was be a small mall near everyone for last minute shopping and a few scattered grocery stores so some people don't have to drive 10 miles to get to the nearest grocery store. I would make a small shack for a few people to run that sold lemonade on warm days and hot cocoa on cold days. I would make the roads wider and build a forest that would become a giant area for green things and little animals. There would also be a local college,somewhere in the middle of town. I would make sure that not only did the mayor and town board have authority, but so did the people. I would make it a fun place to be for all the citizens. – Maddie
If I were mayor of my town, I'd create a place for kids to go that had activities for them that are safe & well supervised. It would include movies, sports, crafts, swimming, or reading areas. There would be lessons to try things like archery, dancing, playing a musical instrument, rock wall climbing, singing, or painting. Even learn things like computer skills, caring for animals, sewing, gardening, or cooking. Parents would feel safe having their kids there. It would be free and things like the gardening would keep our outdoor areas nice, and cooking could mean some great treats to those that want to try it. To help keep other areas up you would have to donate some of your time to sweeping, window washing, etc. Not following the rules and even unkind behavior might mean you'd not be allowed back for a time. I would make sure it was a place with plenty of space indoors and out. You would want to be there and take pride in its success. – Jasmine
If I were the mayor of my town, I would try my best to make it a better place to live. For example, more stores and a big mall! I would like it to be bigger so there will be more fun things to do, like glow in the dark golfing! That would be fun! Oh, and a water park. That would also be fun! Lots of donating places for when it's Christmas, and help the town be greener, and a safer place to be! I would also really like if there is no tree cutting anywhere. I want my town to be covered with trees, so wherever you look, all you can see is pure green and beautiful land. There should be no hunting, but maybe a trail or two for people to do that! What would make my town number one is for it to have lots of great jobs for people. I want there to be no poor people in my green town, and if someone is poor, then I will make an online donation place for rich people, or people that have some money to spare, to donate money to them though the web. I bet my town would be the best, if I were the mayor!!! – Taylor

Wow! Congratulations guys! You all did so awesome. I wish you were a Mayor of my city. Yes Shelby, bullying is a big problem. I sometimes feel a little bullyish myself. If you were a Mayor there would be peace in the town I’m sure. And I LOVE all the green ideas! Those are all wonderful ideas to help save the planet! No wonder you all won! I think the comment that was posted by Frisbeecan meant inside Webkinz they changed the amount of Kinzcash you had to buy and win to earn the complete outfit. I don’t think she meant the writing contest was easy. My outfit was hard to earn because I earned it right away also. But that’s alright because it was still very fun! To write an essay like that you must be clever. Mine doesn’t even compare to it. Great job winners your malls and fairs sure would be fun to see, as long as it was earth friendly. Oh! I know, Webkinz should have a be green contest! That would be fun. Like a eco friendly outfit, a green room, and how you can help save the earth! Or did they already do that? Again, I LOVE your ideas Mayors! It is so nice to hear your inspiring ideas on how you would all make the world a better place. I like how you would all help the poor and homeless. Would you all also provide jobs for them? They could use the opportunities. I’d deffinitely donate some things for the less fortunate like at Goodwill. And it is also nice to know that people care about the animals. We need people in this world who are willing to sacrifice for others and enjoy life and see life as its fullest. So little people do nowadays. My, I have been typing too much again!
