May Makeover: Making the Perfect Nursery Room!

When I spotted the new nursery items in the W Shop, I thought to myself “Yeah, Baby!”

I couldn’t wait for an opportunity to design a space with these adorable new pieces. So I was over the moon when I got a commission to create a cheery yet soothing nursery for a new baby boy.

The new nursery wallpaper and flooring are gorgeous with their soft pastel shades, but of course I like to put my own mark on the rooms I design, so I decided that the Blue Sky Wallpaper and Natural Maple wood floor would cushion my clients’ baby boy in a cloud of tranquility. The Plush Rug with its shades of baby blue makes a soft spot for playtime.

And my blues are set off perfectly by the gentle wood tones of the nursery items. The blue crib, with its matching Book & Toy Shelf and Dresser, create a calming locale for baby’s naps, but the rocking horse is ready for fun! My clients can cuddle up with baby in a cozy Wicker Chair while he drifts off to restful tunes from the Nursery Record Player.

I think I’ve created the ideal retreat for this young couple to enjoy the newest member of their family. I ‘m sure they’d agree, but right now they’re all napping. Sssh!

OK, I have to jump in here for a comment. I LOVE the nursery theme. I used the wallpaper, but put a solid blue flooring down. The Newzapalooza poster looks great in this room. I also added a corner with the Baroness Bookshelf and Viscount vanity chair. I threw a few white plush rugs around, along with the blue plush rug. The highchairs are off in another corner with the yellow hamster head rug under it. You can really just to sooo much with these pieces.

If you like green – what a SUPER time to put in a nursery with these great Bloomin’ pieces for FREE! The wallpaper would be perfect for nursery walls!! And there are a ton of green decorations you can add – depending on the green. There is the citrus swirl stuff, tons of flowers, how about the cute paw print rug – it’s yellow and green, but you can also turn it the other way to may a purple and yellow paw print. The green and groovy tiles or the nature’s hug leaf rugs would look great in a corner of the room for a play or reading area and the groovy wall stars are a super addition! The Pop Art Painting with the lions is an adorable wall decoration for a nursery and can go with any color scheme. Just hunting for decorations and matching decor is sooo much fun!

I think I have a knack for it, but there is a lot of great decorating advice in the forums. Check it out if you get stumped and good luck with YOUR nursery!

Awwwwwww! To cute I love the color green, pink, blue, red, etc. I just started to make the room but I just need to get enough time to do it because I have a bunch of room that need to be finished like the Nursery room theme.
You can add other colors to the room from the Wshop. I love the room theme it’s self. And how do you do the smile faces?

Tilde0213, you should work on your spelling, i mean, you spelled a lot of words wrong. So it was sorta hard to read what you said. No offence.
