Molly’s Sign Up Dilemma

Hi! It’s me, Molly. There is a signup sheet in the hall for this year’s teams and clubs. But I can’t decide which ones I want to join. I want to do as much as possible to earn points for our School House, the Quackers. But my dad said that if I join too many teams, I won’t have time for anything else.

I talked to my Phys-ed teacher to see what he thought I should try out for. He said that volleyball, swimming and basketball were my strongest sports, so that sort of narrows it down. I wonder what my friends are signing up for. Maybe I should check out the sign-up sheets and see who I know on each sheet before I sign up.

Well, it looks like Cowabelle, Laurabeard and Polly are trying out for Volleyball. It would be fun to be on the same team as them – plus Cowabelle is in the same School House as me. Stoogles, Roberta and Nibbles are all on the Yearbook Committee. That would be pretty neat to be a part of too. Stoogles and Alex have signed up for Chess Club, and Sparky, Booger and Nibbles are going out for the Swim Team. I was thinking of trying out for the Spirit Squad, but Purr-cilla, Janice and Penelope have all signed up for that. I’m not really sure I want to be on the same squad as them – they’d probably suck all the fun out of it.

I guess maybe I should figure out how many teams I want to join first. And from the signup sheet I can see that some of the teams meet on the same days so I won’t be able to sign up for ones with conflicting schedules. I guess that narrows it down a bit too.

So what do you think would be a good number of teams to join? What would you do if you were me?

I would try out for 2. If you want to do spirit squad, don’t let them stand in the way of that. As they say in school, NEVER not do something you like because a bully might see you or he/she is on the same team. I think you should try to do spirit squad and swimming!

You should join 2 teams on different days. You should do 1 thing you haven’t tried, and 1 you’ve already done, and love.

    You’re Welcome, Ruthie :)

It makes sense Molly doesn’t want to go on the same team as her mortal enemies, but I think she should do what she wants, not just going with her friends because they’re her friends. I mean, don’t get me wrong, it IS nice to play with people you get along well with, but it’s up to you, Molly! Do what you feel is right! :D

Sometimes people surprise you, and you them, when you are working together, but not always.
If she is really interested, she should try anyway. She could always stop if a problem develops.

Well Done Booger, swimming is a great way to exercise, Dr Quack will be please. But remember to keep off the high sugar stuff.

I think volleyball and the swimming to cool down. That would be my choice.

I think the best for you is to do 2 or 3 and maybe not sprit squad if you don’t want to be on the same team has them.P.S. This is just my thought.

Hey molly. Ihad this problem last year. in the end I signed up for my 2 favorites and did the others out of school time to avoid conflicting schedules. I have always wanted to horse ride though so i had to un sign from some activities.
