Nibbles Sees a Ghost!

By Salley Cat

We had a bit of a mystery on our hands today, readers. Nibbles came running into school absolutely freaking out.  When she was walking to school this morning she swore she saw a ghost in the trees near her house. She was shaking like a leaf. She said she couldn’t go home after school – she just couldn’t.

I knew that there had to be some logical explanation. It is close to Halloween after all so I thought maybe what she thought was a real ghost was actually just somebody’s decorations. But Nibbles insisted that the ghost was flying through the trees! Freaky, huh?

After school she was so scared about walking home I said I’d walk with her and we’d figure this thing out. Our walk home was completely uneventful. That is, until we got to the trees by her house. She was still really shaky when all of a sudden, she screamed and pointed. I turned to look at what she was pointing at and there it was. I saw it too! Through the trees a wispy white figure swayed back and forth.

Nibbles didn’t have to tell me twice – we were OUT OF THERE! We ran screaming into Nibbles’ house and slammed the door shut. Nibbles and I leaned back against the door, breathing heavily. We were both terrified, knowing IT was out there.

Suddenly, from the kitchen, we heard a scraping noise. We turned to look at one another, our hearts in our throats. From deep inside the quiet house we could hear footsteps coming toward us – step, step, step. We couldn’t move. It was like we were glued in place by our terror. As the footsteps grew closer, Nibbles reached down to turn the doorknob. We’d have to make a run for it.

Then, the footsteps stopped. Nibbles looked at something over my shoulder and gasped. I slowly turned my head…

“There you are, Nibbles.” said Plumpy, standing in the kitchen door. “Have you seen my white nightgown?”

“N-n-nightgown?” asked Nibbles, slowly.

“Yes,” replied Plumpy. “I hung it out on the washing line to dry yesterday but I’m worried it may have blown away last night. It was so windy.”

Nibbles and I looked at each other. Suddenly we both started giggling uncontrollably. Plumpy just stared at us with a confused expression on her face. Between spasms of laughter we managed to explain that her nightgown HAD blown off the line and we knew exactly where it had landed – in the trees outside their house. As she walked out the door to get her nightgown Plumpy said she really didn’t get what was so funny about that. That just made us laugh even harder!

See? I knew there was a logical explanation!

I was alone and walking through the woods when I saw it…Exept it was misty-see-through-blue. I took one look and Freaked out!?!?!?

    • lilspring says:

Nakky13 it is very easy to find the ghost in the clubhouse, but you have to have patience. The ghost has been coming around about every 30 minutes or so (give or take a minute or two). It does not matter what color zone you are on either the wait time is the same. Hope this helps you and anyone else with this problem. :)

HAHAHA!!!!!! I am laughing so hard!!!! when I read the head line I thought she was talking about the ghost in the clubhouse!

  10. Garnets says:

Good grief, I can’t ask someone what’s so funny without ending up laughing as well. Or if someone asks me what’s so funny, I laugh harder. I don’t know. One kid had the same problem, and when I asked him, he ended up pounding his fist on his desk. That made me laugh harder, and it made the class laugh, so, I understand the ending perfectly

      • lillyluvie says:

Yeah, I would be kinda scared too! ;) I have seen ghots before. People say that my old school was haunted so everyone pretended to see a ghost. But my friend and I were the only ones who actually saw it. When we saw it we just stood there, lol. But then we just quickly ran away. We kept looking for the ghost again but only found it 2 more times. We did a science project on it. :) It was pretty interesting.

My school boiler room is haunted. I dropped a penny down a hole there once and saw something move. It was so creepy. Once in my old classroom the door closed and 2 posters fell at the same time and there wasnt even a breeze. :D

lol! I’ve seen ghost before. Oh, and has anyone noticed that Sally’s eyes r 2 different colors. Green and blue.

        • lightpapa says:

I don’t think you and your friend saw a real ghost. I think you saw someone dressed up as one. What did it look like? Maybe I could tell you what it was if I knew what it looked like. One time my cousin and I thought we saw a ghost in a basement. We finally figured out we were just letting our minds go crazy. I thought it was a real ghost! I was a lot younger back then. But I was scared. The worst thing is my sister was with us, but she was so scared, she ran upstairs screaming, shut the door, and we tore it open and slammed it, screaming louder.

          • lightpapa says:

I meant lillyluvie. I don’t know how my comment got down here. (Not this comment, the one before it.)

    • unet101 says:

Yeah even if I saw a rwally realistic ghost in the trees I would just walk right up to it. I’m serious! I would LOL!

      • sarahandlacey says:

It’s just the kinz again! LOL! Like my pun?

        • lillyluvie says:

LOL! Yeah. And I had something like this happen to me too. I have a woods RIGHT in my backyard and I go walking alone in there sometimes. It is really nice, because its so quiet and there is a river by it. But I thought I saw a ghost and heard a cracking noise. Not sure if it was one or not because then a wind came and blew by. It could have been a rabbit.

They should TOTALLY keep it up there and scare people on Halloween (I mean, Nibbles told a lot of people right? When they come Trick or Treating and see the ghost she said she saw, well all I can say is, “Epic Scream Fest”)
