Not Quite There

Looks like that challenge was a bit tricky! Better luck next time. Be sure to visit the Kinzville Times to vote for next weekend’s prize. Want to know what next weekend’s challenge is going to be? Be sure to visit Webkinz Newz on Thursday for a sneak peek.

If they lowered the points for games that don’t pay good that would help. They could pick more favorite games. They could pick better prizes. We like to play for 1000 kc! :-) If they didn’t have so many things happening at once so we have to choose… it goes on and on. They ask too much for too little.

  2. chickenpieme says:

I completely agree with the above comments. We need better prizes!!

    • camogirl says:

yeah i agree! i think it needs to be kinzcash awards but i spent like a long time on that game an we still didn’t get it. i also think they need to make the challenges easier.

  3. HeatherCatlady says:

It’s not just the prizes that are the issue. Many kids have sports trips, church and other activities on the weekends. Even if they were home for the entire weekend, many parents won’t allow their children to spend all day long on the computer. I think Ganz needs to take that into account, since the last 3 or 4 communal contest requirements weren’t met. Still doing a great job with lots of stuff to do online. Thanks Ganz.

  4. gerbilsrawesome says:

Of course we didn’t win. So many people don’t even bother playing the game anymore. I don’t. We never win anyway. The prizes are boring and the point goals are WAY to high we can never make it.

  5. Rwebster says:

There should be better prizes definitely, like rare, more money, and e-store stuff. I hope we will start winning again soon, it has been weeks… we just need more motivation…

    • savedbygrace says:

TOTALLY better prizes! I never actually use them in my room, just sell them for 300 kinzcash! :P

    • dewdrop says:

Yes how about some e-Store items or Tokens for the wish machine {as they are so hard to win} I hope also that we win the item that is FREE this time around :) I think that if it was a FREE virtual pet everyone would play ?

  6. Commulal prizes are b o r i n g says:

The prizes are boring; that’s why I don’t play the games. :? :P

    • dewdrop says:

The prizes may be boring I agree but we do not have to keep the Item we can sell it ? Also think about the people who may not have the item up for grabs for FREE. It does not make sense to me that people are not trying to win the FREE item plus get Kinzcash as they play the weekend game, I also agree we should be able to play the game longer then the weekend when a lot of people are busy . Happy Webkinz playong :)

      • HarryPotterFan33 says:

That’s the only reason I play the games because of the prize. When I get the prize, I sell it, because I don’t really like W-Shop items a lot. WHY DOESN’T GANZ GIVE US BETTER PRIZES? Please Ganz give us better prizes! Some of us work really hard for these CC’s and we get terrible prizes! Please, please give us better prizes!

        Thanks,
        HPF33

  7. emy4pandas says:

Give us more incentive to complete the contest Ganz!! Better prizes, better prizes, etc………
    :)

    • Silver Stream says:

I think that you should be able to play the game the entire week. Exept Mon. so we can vote. That way, we have more time to get to the goal!
Plus, I think WebkinzMembers should give suggestions on what the prizes should be and maybe, maybe once in a while even a estore item!
I also think that the member who raised the most points should get to go to the KinzStyle Shop (run by persephone)
That is why we should get the entire week to finish because it would be too much competition in 2 days.
Reply if you like my idea!

    BETTER LUCK NEXT TIME C=

    • cyrene says:

I am very disappointed. I spent 3 HOURS playing that game. I think Ganz should offer better prizes so others will be more inclined to play. Cen you imagine how many people only played one game?
      cyrene

      • dewdrop says:

        Yeah I have done that in the past a few times to find we did not reach the goal , not fair :{ you should get a prize because you tried so hard} . I fully agree give players a better incentive { e-Store prize or Wish tokens at least two, rare items or rare clothing } this might help :}

    • Mudstar says:

I also think we should get to choose our own games along with prizes. What do you think?

      • dewdrop says:

I agree better games {they do surveys to try and find out what games people like} and Better prizes :)

      • Silver Moon says:

I agree MudStar. I think that members should choose what to compete for. The game we play is up to Ganz.
I also think that we should have the entire week to play! I agree that not all of us will be able to play on Week days but it will gain us a few hours more to get to the goal! But, I think that exept for one day we should play! That way on one day we can vote for the prize. +maybe there should be 5 choices!
I also think that since, we would have an entire 6 days, the member who raises the most points should win a KinzStyle Shp bag! That would be pretty cool I think. I then think that it would b hard out of around 6000 players hard to earn the most so what if the top 10? But that is up to Ganz.
But the people who can’t participate most Weekdays would have no shot ,right? That is why there should be a day where the points for that game are doubled! That would give everyone a shot at getting the most points and the KinzStyle Shop Bag.
Then, when we miss a challenge, the goal should drop down like 10,000 points maybe. If we are succesful then the goal could go up around 100,000 points more!
Do this and everyone will race to get the most points possible! :) -SM
I also think that to make sure progress, everytime we complete a challenge, for the next week the challege should be 10,000P-100,000P higher. Then if we lose a challenge, the goal goes down 10,000-50,000 depending on how high the goal was and by how far we missed it.
Do that Ganz and you will have people racing to

        • cyrene says:

          I totally agree.
There are people who want this to happen, and now we just need to wait for Ganz to act upon what we have said. I count about 20 people who are wanting to change the way CC are right now.
I say lets raise it to 500. I know there are more of us who want them to change.
If you want the CC’s to change please comment saying that you want them changed and maybe Ganz will see this is a thing we really want.

          • Starla says:

            I am all for changing.
SoccerSlave I loved your post. I am agreeing with everything you said.
Also Silver Moon, I really liked your post too.
Does anyone know if there is a way to contact Ganz and let them know.
I have been reading these kind of comments for weeks. Ganz doesn’t seem to be doing anything about it. So maybe like cyrene said we should all put our names down so it is like a petion to change the way CC are! Lets raise this to 500!

        • Mudstar says:

I really like your idea of members who raise the most points get Kinzstyle bags! Not only would it motivate people to play more, it would actually reward those who work extra hard. It would be much better to adjust the goal depending on how we did. I hope Ganz listens to our comments, this are really good suggestions! This is basicly a Communal Contest Revolution. XD

          • cyrene says:

Now if Ganz will only listen too our Revolution…

          • Mudstar says:

This is basicly what we are wanting to change or improve:
            1. The goal
It should really be adjusted depending on our results.
            2. The game
The players should get to choose their game along with prizes so that unpopular games are not played.
            3. A motive
If we were to have some kind of motive, like Silver Moon suggested a Kinzstyle Bag given to players who earn the most points, it would encourage people to play more and reward those who work hard, even if we don’t win the prize. I’ve heard of many people who said they played for as much as 4 hours and we didn’t reach the goal, so the bags would make their hard work worth it.
            4. Better Prizes
If they can’t do eStore items every week, maybe prizes that cost more so we could re-sell them? On holiday weekends, such as Christmas, Thanksgiving, etc., we could choose eStore items, sort of like a holiday treat.
            5. Longer time to play
The challenge should definiatly allow a longer play period. As many people said before, they are busy on weekend with church, sports, friends, family, and other things. Swim Team is starting up in mid-May for me (my fourth year, WOOT!) so I’ll be swimming for an hour and a half every weekday, spending all Saturday at a swim meet, and Sunday will either be with friends or relaxing. But right now I am being loading with homework, exept for Friday. Many people do not have sports or other activities on Friday, so if we had that day to play, we might have a better chance at winning the challenge.

Thanks to anyone who took the time to read all this! XD

          • cyrene says:

            Mudstar,
That is exactly what I am wanting. Thanks for putting it down as a comment.

    • SoccerSlave says:

      It’s not just a matter of luck…..
We are now about 7 weeks without a win….Food for Thought:
I think an hour’s worth of play over the weekend is a reasonable amount of time for the contest – many children have time limits on their computer usage. I know some who have only 1 hour a week, but some are given up to an hour or two for weekend usage. Yes, some have unlimited time, but I think MOST parents do limit it for younger folk. And, as weather gets better, many are involved in sports and organizations. Many of our weekends involve travel [guess which sport], sometimes up to 3 hours each way. Then there’s scout trips and family trips and church and RE and groceries and homework(yes, on weekends) and longer school projects and…
Granted, there are also many adults on WW, so they may spend more time. But even adults must shop and clean and do things in or out of the house on the weekend.

In the past, some goals have seemed completely unreasonable and would require EVERYONE on ww to only do the CC game and nothing else ALL weekend [first goal is the worst example].

Elsewhere, I’ve started to mention what 10,000 players would need to do to make the current goal,
and I consider that amount of play reasonable if it can be achieved with about an hour’s play over the course of the weekend. I anticipate some will do more and some less, and actual time for a player can vary, but base the reasonableness of the goal on what a few plays by family members yield before the weekend and whether we’ve reached a similar goal in the past.
I had thought the last few fell into that category and might stand a chance, but the players weren’t there. It seems people are dropping out like flies, at least based on comments elsewhere. And this was another week where the previous time we played the game of the weekend we DID NOT MAKE a lower goal by quite a bit where you repeated or raised the goal.
For this last weekend, if 10,000 people had played 20 beginner games (level 3/2250 pts each) or 8 games to level 7, they would have totaled about 45,000 to 50,000 pts. This is about an hour’s work. But, we COULD NOT get that much support – we only reached about 1/4 of the goal.

I know a good number of players who DID that amount or greater (who read a site you have a good relationship with),
so that really shows a HUGE lack of play.

      Please, Please address this problem.
How about some of the other games? It seems the same ones show up over and over.
How about a weekend where play on either of 2 games can count?
How about analyzing what people actually play and earn?
How about offering if 3 weeks in a row are won, a decent non-(WShop/KC) prize will be offered as a choice on the 4th week.
Remember major holiday weekends and adjust goals accordingly [people travel/spend time with others] – it seems that we had several this year where you did not take those into account.
SOMETHING needs to be done if you don’t want the trend of people dropping out to continue.

There have to be some reasonable steps you can try.

      • dewdrop says:

Yes I agree with a few points you have made but Webinz is now nearly Worldwide I am in Australia and I have been finding it hard to log on to play (although I did 4 games at level 7&8 } I am not sure if there may be a problem where people are not playing due to not having the time to do all the activities on the weekend as they cannot log on and when they do they have run out of time to do everything or maybe it is just me having the problem ??? Anyway better luck for this weekend {daylight savings finishes here in the state I live in } As i have said before if all Webkinz players played at least once low or high level players surely we can reach the score we need to win FREE item :)

      • Serenity says:

This account is shared by 4 people, 2 are under the age of 10 and one is under the age of 5, and the goals for the community contests are astronomically too high for them to even have a hope of attempting to get anywhere. Rather than building community spirit you are breeding frustration.
The goals are set so high that if you don’t achieve the top scores of the month on a per game basis, there is no way that the goal will be reached. Why can’t you look at the AVERAGE score per game by beginners rather than the highest achievements of a few?
Why members of Webkinz spend all that time playing games that offer almost no kinz cash per play for a prize that we can’t win, when we can play the games we love and do well in, and buy the same item on our own?
Someone please read these comments and others around the site and start paying attention and adjusting how you present things, please.

        • Allen says:

          Serenity-
          I hope I misunderstand you-
          They do not expect each player to play to the stated goal;
the goal is what they want the combined scores of all players to be.
A beginner could just play to register 1kc and a few points, and they are considered entered and
          part of the effort.
Hope you will play next weekend!

SoccerSlave – excellent post. Agree on all points.

      • cyrene says:

SoccerSlave I totallly agree with you.
I have soccer games on Saturday and am not even aloud to go on Webkinz on Sunday. I also am limited to 4 hours of playing time a week. This week I saved 3 hours of my time and devoted it to playing the game. I was sorely dissapointed to see we didn’t acheive the goal.
Ganz needs to give us more motivation. Better prizes, diffrent games, lower goals to get others attention. SoccerSlave made several good points that I am hoping Ganz will consider.
We had a good effort at the beginning but it is decreasing weekly. Like SoccerSlave said this week we only made 1/4 of our goal.
Please try to help this week if all possible.
And not only you but we need Ganz’s help also.
I hope that Ganz will read our comments and do something.
        Thank you,
        cyrene

Yeah, i agree… we have won only 3 times since Christmas until now. We need better prices, different games, and more reasonable goals. But its still fun. (i keep a record boook of communal contests)

      • izzy says:

Yes, soccerslave you have a GREAT point. I admire your consistence for freedom and rights of Webkinz pets and Webkinz players. The goals should be lowered for more webkinz users to actually have fun playing the games they love and being able to win the prizes they want. I also really love your idea about every three sucesses, the fourth prize is to be more valuable and not be possible to purchase at the W-Shop. The best way to reach one of the communual contest goal is to first off, not make the goal something almost impossible as “earn at least 10,000,000 KinzCash” or “win at least 500,000,000 points in _______ game”, and secondly make the prizes a whole lot more worth playing the games such as exclusive items or Kinz Style Shop ( not Outlet) clothing items. I really hope the creators of webkinz read all of these notes, but if not, I hope they at least read your post, soccerslave.

      • cyndi18 says:

I completely agree with soccerslave – thank you for expressing the concerns so clearly! I hope Ganz reads it. I have also been sending suggestions through the Contact Us section in Webkinz world. I’ve sent many suggestions – hopefully the designers listen. I also think that if you have so many weeks in a row with no win, those that would normally devote more time to that game will decide to do other things as the goal is so far out of reach. Great Job in your comment!

      • kat10000000000000000 says:

All of the new WKN posts allow comments. Some run several pages, including this one.
You used to be able to use the drop-down page list to access those spilling to page 2 and beyond.
But this has not been working for the last few days — the drop down just shows the number 1
even thought there are several other pages for some entries.
