Well, readers, by now you’ve probably figured out what my favorite color is. If you haven’t yet, I’ll give you a clue – it’s PINK! I’ve got some rooms in my house that are pink all over, like my kitchen and my dining room, and others with just a hint of pink, like my bathroom. When I designed my living room, I wanted to create a relaxing, casual oasis where I can hang out with my friends in front of the TV, get a bit of work done, or just chill with a good book.
With that in mind, I put together this mellow space. I think there is just the right balance of pinks to neutrals to let me enjoy my favorite color without going overboard. I started with a coat of calming Light Sea Green Wall Paint and created a feature by completely covering one wall with floor to ceiling Dance Studio Long Mirrors.
The main source of pink in this room is my fabulous Flower Power Modular sofa. I think its sleek, modern lines and funky pattern are just fab! I paired it up with the Banana Coffee Table to introduce a sense of fun.
In one corner I made a spot where I can play games or enjoy a snack with friends. The Pink Salon Reception Chairs go nicely with the Funky Girl Dining Table. In another corner is my work space, a versatile drafting table and stool with some built in shelving to hold supplies. On the wall, I just love the impact made by the Time Warp Clock and yes, reader, that is yours truly up there too. I couldn’t resist.
I spotted this amazing Elven Oracle Statue when I was designing my dining room and I thought it was the perfect eclectic touch to finish off my living room.
All in all, I think I’ve designed a space that is funky and relaxed but elegant enough for entertaining too.
I love my new room.
This room is rockin’!
um… next time, persophone, leave the makeovers to hailey and elwin.
