Hey guys. It’s Roberta rabbit here and boy am I having a rough day. What’s up? Glad you asked. My dad has gone traveling again. He’s a sales rabbit (for the Kinzville Washing Machine Company) and that means he’s on the road a lot. I really miss him when he’s gone, but at least he always tries to make it home for the holidays. This year, it looks like he might be missing Thanksgiving. Can you believe it? My entire family (including all of my cousins, aunts, uncles, great-aunts, great-uncles and family friends) get together at my grandparents’ house. But not my dad. I don’t understand why he can’t skip the trip – or come home early! Everyone else gets a holiday. It’s not fair. Thanksgiving is kind of ruined for me this year.
I feel the same way! Every year I can remember we (meaning my family and I) have gone to my grandparents house with my aunt, uncle, and little cousins for Thanksgiving; but this year, my aunt, uncle, and cousins have offered to take our grandparents, and us, to Maggiono’s for lunch. Not that I’m ungrateful, I love Maggiono’s, but the way I had imagined Thanksgiving was like this: Wake up, play on the computer, watch the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade, go to our grandparents house, watch the rest of the parade, and the replay of the parade for the parts we missed during the car ride while we wait for our grandma to finish cooking, maybe do a little bit of cooking myself, eat brunch, watch more of the parade, eat the Thanksgiving Meal, play with my cousins and my brother until everybody’s ready for Dessert, have Dessert, maybe play a little bit more, and then go home and play on the computer and Nintendo DS.
I feel bad for you Roberta on Thanksgiving just try to have a good time, he can’t miss the trip but still have fun :)

Roberta, I get that you are sad, but you should be thankfull that you actually HAVE a dad in the first place, a lot of kids don’t, you know. In fact, some kids basically have NO family to be with, maybe some not even friends. And a lot of people can’t afford to have a big Thanksgiving meal and stuff. You should be thankfull to be able to do all that stuff with the rest of your family, and to actually HAVE tons of family and friends. And who knows? Your dad may be home for Thanksgiving yet! But for now, just try to look on the bright side and be thankfull for what you’ve got. I know it’s no fun for your dad to be gone a lot, that happens to one of our friends a lot, but you shouldn’t let it spoil everything.
