Roberta Rabbit: Not the Easter Bunny

Millie Pig is a very…interesting little girl. I found out why she’s been acting so strangely around me.

For some reason, she thinks I’m either the Easter Bunny or related to the Easter Bunny (I’m not). I guess she got the idea because I was dyeing eggs yesterday, and she happened to see me at the park this morning. My paws were all blue and pink and yellow. When she asked why, I told her about the egg dyeing. Her eyes lit up and she said, “What else are you doing for Easter?”
I told her about making baskets (and that I had a LOT to do), and chocolates for everyone. By ‘everyone,’ I meant ‘all my friends.’ Not ‘everyone in the world.’

She got this big smile on her face and said, “Are you going to do my basket soon?” I was about to ask her what she meant, but then she continued and said, “I’ve been a good girl! Please, Easter Bunny Roberta, please bring me lots of good stuff!”

I said, “I’m not the Easter Bunny, Millie.”

And then she said, “Is the Easter Bunny your aunt?”

And I said, “No.”

And she said, “Oh, so he’s your uncle!”

And that’s what she thinks. Because no matter how much I protested, she wouldn’t listen.

When she dropped off that note yesterday, initially I thought I would just ignore it. But some of the things she wants from the Easter Bunny are a little…odd. And I don’t want her to be disappointed if they’re not in her basket on Easter morning. So I’m making them myself.

Who knows? Maybe the Easter Bunny is actually a distant cousin or something.

I kinda think Millie is being….. obnoxious. No offense. But, Roberta is being kind to her anyways because she’s making Millie a basket, at least.
