Dear Mom and Dad,
Okay – you are never going to believe this one. I’m not sure I believe it myself, but I’ve decided to join the softball team! Me – uncoordinated Roberta! Last week we had a Games Day and I was so nervous I didn’t even want to take part. I know it was wrong of me, but I actually pretended to be sick to try and get out of it. Sorry.
BUT… it turned out okay because Amanda talked me into giving it a try and you know what? I had fun! Can you believe it? And you know what is even freakier? I was pretty good! In fact – I did so well at Games Day, Amanda asked if I would be interested in joining the softball team. And I said yes!
It’s so much fun. We play against other camps in the area and in my first game I got two hits! Amanda says I’m a natural. I’m not so sure about that, but I really am enjoying it. It’s cool being part of a team. It’s like we have a special bond because we have this thing in common. We made up a team cheer too.
Who would’ve thought that I would end up as part of a ball team? And if I hadn’t taken part in Games Day I never would’ve realized I could do it. I hate to admit it but I guess you’re right – I’ll never know unless I try. I hate it when you’re right. ;-)
I miss you!
Roberta
Hiya, I am shy too, but I am on a team. I am good at softball, and I made my schools team.

What’s the team cheer? I’d love to hear it!
Yea Roberta!!
hi can i get in the contest please
I’m happy for Roberta but my experience is quite different. If someone feels clumsy and doesn’t like sports they are usually not very good when they start. Never been a “natural” for anything athletic. Still, good for you, Roberta.
Yeah! Softball is THE BEST SPORT I play :) except when you get hit by the ball….. Good job Roberta!
tammy here hi guys great job roberta i hope you do really well!
Awesome!
Yay… I’m glad that Roberta tried out Games Day. She found some very surprising things about herself! What if she hadn’t given Games Day a try?
