Roberta’s Craft: Wrapping Paper

Roberta here with another fun (and easy) craft! Here’s how you make your very own wrapping paper!

What you need:

Empty soda bottle (as large or as small as you like), tempera or acrylic paint, large piece of paper

What you do:

  1. Pour the paint into a shallow dish or tray.
  2. Dip the bottom of your soda bottle into the paint.
  3. Stamp the bottom of the bottle onto the paper. It looks like flowers!
  4. Now you’ve got your own flower-themed wrapping paper!

I think it’s really cute. While wrapping paper from the store looks great, I think my cousins will enjoy doing this craft with me next time we’re together.

Cool idea Roberta, I also like 2 be creating my own wrapping paper! My allowance only goes so far, and stpre bought wrapping paper is really expensive! I like 2 use comics too, NorthWestern :) There are so many creative things that are not only cool, but that are eco-friendly and resorceful. Ur friend~ Herself the Elf

Taking this idea one step further…a lot of times when you get a package thru the mail, there will be large sheets of light brown paper crumpled up. Take this paper, have an adult iron it, then decorate. A great way to recycle & an inexpensive, yet pretty gift wrap. cinderlou

I like it too! Why waste money on ridiculously over priced gift wrap when you can have fun making your own for far less!

I think it is really nice. I would use lots of things to make prints on the paper. Trying to buy wrapping paper can be really hard sometimes. They never have what you what most of the time. Thanks for another good craft Roberta! P.S. Are you a big sister yet???? >>cathouse2

I think it’s cute. Normally, I wrap gifts in newspaper or comics or on fancy occasions, tissue paper. This idea is a lot cuter than normal wrapping paper, and imagine how awesome it would be if you used different colors. . . : D I would use this wrapping paper only if I made handmade gifts though. . . .it only seems right, you know? ~*Livin’ the Song of a Country Girl~CountryGirlAnthem~*
