Guess what, everyone? Today was my mom’s baby shower and it was SO much fun! We played games, we ate delicious treats (we had the whole thing catered by La Soufflé) and my mom got a TON of cute gifts. You should see some of the baby clothes! They’re SO tiny. She got mostly green and yellow things, because we don’t know if it’s a boy or a girl. My aunt (my mom’s sister) thinks it’s DEFINITELY a girl, but I don’t know. I keep switching between boy and girl! What I DO know is that my mom said in about a month or so the baby will be here, so we have to be ready for him or her. What does that mean? Well, she said we should pick up a few more baby clothes, some diapers, a baby bathtub and a few other things. We’re going to go to the store after school gets out for the summer. I can’t wait!
If you guys could tell me one thing about taking care of babies (something that would help me be a better big sister), what would it be?
I say the best thing to do with a baby is burp them, because if you don’t they get a tummy ache, and will barf all over you! When they go potty in their diapers, don’t pick them up, get their mom. They are small, but they are smelly! The best thing I can tell you to do with a baby is hug them, they like that.
I hope it’s boy. Reid is a nice name for a bunny.
Remember that babies cry, your mom and dad will be tired, and you might feel left out. So… help out as much as you can, spend time holding your baby sister or brother to get to know them AND give your mom a break, and tell your mom and dad when you are feeling left out or forgotten. They love you and want to take good care of you, too.
Well, out of all the things I know about babies (which is NOT very much at all…), I think the most important is to be extra careful with them, and yes, as Kodiak said, watch out when you change their diaper! LOL!
I hope its a girl! I am the youngest. :p it has it’s ups and downs.
Roberta, I hope you have a baby sister. If you want to be a wonderful sister, play with your sibling and be helpful. Best of luck to you!
Roberta, be kind to your little brother or sister. Also, get a pair of earplugs. Babies are noisy.
I find it odd that Roberta said,”but I dont know.I keep switching between a boy and a girl.” because int the last post it said,”I dont know why we need the blue.Im almost postive its a girl.” Anyone agree?
Sounds fun! My advice is to always have fun and love the baby ( belive me I’m a big sister). ♥*Hug♥*
For a boy or girl~Put your best possessions some where up high so they cannot reach it. For a boy~ When they are a toddler or a preschooler watch out! They can be very loud!!! And I do agree for what Kodiak says, keep a pillow! For a girl~ I have no idea because I only have a younger brother! Good luck and best wishes!! ;)
