Salley’s Great Day

Wow! This year got off to a much better start than last year. Last year I didn’t get to be in the same class as Stoogles, but this year we’re together! Isn’t that great? And we have Miss Daisy again! Miss Daisy is so nice. I’m so glad we’re in her class again! She even let us choose our own seats so Stoogles and I get to sit right next to each other! For the first day of class Miss Daisy did the funniest thing! Usually when we come back we have to write a report on what we did over the summer. But this year, Miss Daisy said that instead of writing it down, we were each going to get up and act out what we did – sort of like playing Charades! We had a few minutes to think about what we did and plan it out, and then we got up in front of everyone and acted it out while all the kids shouted out their guesses. Stoogles was absolutely hilarious! He got up and started bouncing around and then flopped over on the ground. Then he hopped around on one foot with a sad look on his face, and then started wiggling across the floor with a big smile. Everyone was just really confused but we were all laughing our heads off. It turns out he was acting out when he fell off his trampoline and broke his flipper. Then he was hopping around feeling sad while he was stuck at home with his grandpa, but the wiggling across the floor was when his family got him a wagon to travel around in. I don’t think I’ve laughed so hard in ages! Isn’t Miss Daisy an awesome teacher? I thought that was such a cool idea!
