Salley’s Brilliant Idea

November has never been my favorite month. I really like October, I totally love December – but November is just kind of an obstacle between Halloween and Christmas.

So that’s where I got my brilliant idea to make November exciting. I suggested having some kind of event and the rest of the council (Stoogles and Purr-Cilla) thought it was a totally great idea (OK, so Purr-Cilla didn’t say ‘totally great’, but I know that deep down she’s on board).

We talked about several options. Here’s what we came up with:

Bake sale (Purr-Cilla said, “We just did this. We’re probably going to have one before Christmas. What is it with you and bake sales?” I like brownies, OK? Sheesh.)

Craft Show (Stoogles was against this one. “What am I going to do at a craft sale? Buy a teapot cozy? A pinecone with eyeballs?” Wow. Everyone’s a critic.)

Fall Fair (no one really had anything bad to say about this idea. Because it’s AWESOME!)

Field trip to the Henrietta Hippo Theater of the Performing Arts (Another popular option – who doesn’t like a field trip?)

Talent Show (this was suggested by Stoogles – I think he just wants to show off his dancing skills. But I pointed out that we do this at the END of the school year. He said that some Webkinz were talented enough for two shows.)

Book Fair (this was also a popular option. Well, with Stoogles and I. Purr-Cilla said that no book fairs are boring.)

Rummage Sale (again, Purr-Cilla was against this one. Her exact words? “No one wants to buy your old junk.”)

We’re all going to think about the options tonight and see which one sounds best to us. We’re reconvening tomorrow, so we’ll see what everyone wants to do!

I like the fall fair idea because you can have the book sale, craft fair all be part of it but what about Rememberance Day/Veteran’s Day?

I think a fall fair everybody in webkinz could go to sounds super fun. It could be a all-day fair, so you could log-on at any time and start the fun at the fair! Tickets could be like, 25 kinzcash each, and then you could go in, and there would be lots games and freebies (fall food and games, etc. would be a good idea.)! Who’s with me?!

Hmmm, I definitely see a potential to combine ideas. Start with a fall fair.

Who doesn’t get hungry at fairs. You can easily set up a bake sale on the side. You might even sell pizza slices, hot dogs, chips and soft drinks, so moms won’t have to worry about dinner that night. A rummage sale could also be set up on the side. Who knows you might get some Holiday shopping done while you at it.

There could be an entertainment stage. Ours always has a local karate school come and do a demonstration. They even bring a bunch of pads so the kids can get a mini lesson and try their kicks. Stoogles can show off his talent there. Maybe the performing arts center will do a little show too.

Make sure that you set up the book fair in a separate room from the food. You wouldn’t want to have people dripping on the brand new books as they wander around with their food.

Add a bunch of games, and maybe a moon bounce, and you will have the most awesome fair ever.

Each one of you liked some ideas more than others. Take advantage of your differences… set up a comity for each area, and you can each work on the ones you like best.

    Good luck

since Thanksgiving is in November they should do something to show how thankful they are for all they have – maybe a fall cleanup at a nursing home

I think the fall fair sounds good. We had one at our school. It was super fun. We could win bunnies and buy puppies. There were some really scary rides, too!
