Sometimes it feels like winter will go on forever and the warm weather will never return! Fear not, spring isn’t TOO far away…and winter days can also be LOTS of fun! Here are some wonderful wintry ideas:
1. Get outside and play!
a. Have a snowman making contest.
b. Paint in the snow with water and food coloring mixed together in a spray bottle.
c. Go sledding!
2. Have a hot chocolate taste test. Make up a regular batch of hot chocolate and then add other stuff – a chunk of white chocolate, a quarter teaspoon of cinnamon or nutmeg, a candy cane – anything that will make it taste a little different. Take a few sips and compare – see if you create a new taste sensation!
3. Play a sport! Hockey is great, and so is ice skating – anything that gets you outside and moving!
4. Have a winter dressing race – see who can put on all their outside gear fastest!
5. Build snow castles – somewhat like sand castles, but with snow!
6. Make ice cube sculptures – make a TON of ice cubes in your freezer (freeze colored water for extra fun). Take them outside and build something amazing. Your sculpture will remain as long as temperatures are low!
7. Camp – indoors! OK, so this isn’t so much about being outside, but it’s a great way to relax after a long day of playing. Just make a pillow-and-blanket fort in your living room and get ready to be cozy! Add some hot chocolate and you’ve got the perfect warm way to spend an afternoon!
last year i made a snow shark with its mouth open and i am an artist so my mom said it was great i also sprayed it with blue food coloring!
So all that seams very fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’ve been sledding in my backyard once this year and many, many years ago at a friends’ birthday party in February we colored snow with spray bottles and food coloring, it was fun…. but we didn’t color it a LOT.
I’m not going sled riding because last year there was a tube sticking out of the ground and when I started sledding I hit the tube and went flying in the air I almost broke every bone in my body!
Cool! Sounds FUN!
Cool ideas!- maybe I’ll try some
i cant do any of those things because i live in Australia – and it is summer when it is winter and winter when it is summer
I think you should go sledding and build a snowman. You should also try to go snowboarding or skiing. If you have a ton of people you can build forts and have a snowball fight.
Okay, the painting in the snow sounds just SO MUCH FUN! I can’t wait to try it out. We live in PA and we got FIVE INCHES of snow!!!!!!
what if it`s cold and drery outside and i am tired of hot coco?
