Some Great Ways to Make Over Your Routine!

We all have certain habits we take for granted. Maybe you reach for the cookies as soon as you walk in the door, or take the bus to school when you could just as easily walk.

This May is a great time to look at your habits and really think about which ones could use a makeover. You’d be amazed at how making just a few small changes in your routine can have a big effect on your overall well-being.

Now that the nice weather is here, why not spend more time outdoors? Do you enjoy watching TV? What if you were to trade one hour of TV shows a week for a bike ride or a walk with your dog?

Love sugar? Who doesn’t? If you’re getting your sugar fix from baked goods and candies, why not replace one sugary treat a day with fruit, a natural source of sugar? Have a juicy orange or a handful of luscious grapes instead.

More rest equals more energy. If you unplug from your electronics just 15 minutes earlier each night and wind down before bed with a book, you’ll get a better night’s sleep and find it easier to concentrate the next day.

Just a few simple alterations in your routine will have you feeling healthier and more active. And once you see the positive results you may be motivated to make even more changes.

You’ll be surprised what a difference a makeover can make!

I agree complety with this whole healthy lifestyle idea. But, I have a question for all you Ganz workers out there. If you are promoting eating right, and healthy lifestyles, then why ganz oh why is there marshmallows and chocolate bars in the wshop!? My 6 year old son thinks those things are tasty, so he feeds them to his webkinz pets. Eventually after enough of these treats the pets get terribly sick. You might be thinking “Just visit old Dr. Quack”. But there is a problem with that too. My son is very short on kinzcash and cannot afford Dr. Quack’s outrageous medical bills. The solution to this problem is that The more unfortuanate webkinz members should get free Dr. Quack Care. Thank you for listening and taking my thoughts into consideration.

I’m with you. Mixing politics with Webkinz? No way. It sounds to me like they’re complaining about a good thing, which is teaching kids to eat healthy or possibly suffer from medical issues as a consequence, as well as instilling that free medical care is a privilege and not a right in most places. The more I think about their complaint, the more I’m glad Webkinz is implementing this scenario. Healthy habits for all :) !

Wow, this was a really good post. I’m impressed. As a mother of three and someone who is constantly trying to instill core values in my children, it’s nice to see Ganz taking the time (it’s not as if they have to) to send thoughtful advice like this my family’s way. Way to go, guys :)

I have a really bad habit. My parents say I eat to much healthy food. Does that mean I have to stop eating it?

    • Zooooooz says:

Too much of anything is bad…everything in moderation is better :) That being said, at least you are eating too much health food, and not too much unhealthy food! ;)

    • KellyCookieSlideshow says:

On the contrary supercutepanda101, I believe there is a hint of sarcasm in your parents’s voices. I think that you should totally continue eating healthy foods, and your parents are just proud of you so they have to tease you once and a while. It’s a parent’s job to! :D

    • Katie says:

That is not possible in less you need more fat on you.

    I agree with you HamsterLover!!!

And this is coming from a kid’s website? Notice they didn’t say anything about playing on the computer….

  6. HamsterLover says:

Cool… Although I think it’s strange how a WEBSITE is telling us to go outdoors and such… Mind you I like to go outdoors. But seriously, a website is telling us to go outdoors, AND NOT WATCH TV? Who all thinks that’s a little strange. Isn’t the computer like tv?

    GREAT ADVICE

  8. Kinz Fan says:

These are great ideas. I had to make some changes to my diet on the advice of my doctor a few months ago for headaches (no food colouring, etc.) and now not only have I lost some weight but now since I’ve done that I get more exercise too. I feel a lot better. Small changes make a big difference.

  9. Fat Mama says:

Wow, if i stopped eating cookies i wouldn’t be 479 pounds anymore! I wouldn’t gain anymore! What a horrible idea! :0

    • 1000Silverstar says:

Hmm. This doesn’t seem to include my bad habit! When someone asks me a question, no matter if I hear what they said, I always say ‘what’. This is what I would say to my mom,” Did you do your homework Megan? What? Oh, um yah.” But, most people are talking about thier diet. I really need to gain more weight. I am like 20 pounds under weight. I am a 5th grader and way 78. 2 pounds. I finnaly get to 80 ( I need to weight that to bungy jump ) and then 2 days later, I lose it all! My docter says I have a high metablism meaning I can eat a ton then still be the same later. -1000Silverstar

      • ESL says:

i have a high metabolism too! it sky-rocketed when i started Atkins. i could eat until i’m sick and an hour later be hungry again! weird right?

      • Katie says:

78.2 pounds is not as bad as 68.3 pounds!

      • EllySilverStar says:

That may be what I have, I am ten pounds underweight. I am still healthy, though, save for allergies, but weight has nothing to do with that. If I get sick and don’t feel like eating, I loose weight easily and it takes forever to gain it back. Anyway, they have some good advice here!

      • faspa2000 says:

I am with you 1000Silverstar I always say what. And my name is MEGAN TOO! I’m also a 5th grader. We’re like twins!

      • Bad Habits says:

LOL. My siblings and I have the same habit. You’re not alone! :D
I’m less than 80 too and about your age.

      • Skillet Lover says:

Oh I’m sorry! I don’t have a high metabolism. I am a 7th grader and I way 90lbs. Is that too much to way for a 7th grader? I really do not want to way too much! Believe me, I’m not fat though. I just have 1 shirt I LOVE SO MUCH that I want to be able to fit into! Well, it’s a size 12, in kids, I and actually wear juniors clothes, so, that explains that then. :)

        • empq says:

Skillet Lover you are not fat at all i weight 83 pounds and im a fifth grader!! And i gain about 7-10 pounds per year so i will weigh about probaly about 100 pounds when i am a 7th grader!!! Don’t be worried!!

      • guy says:

Dude. seventh grader here. 81 pounds.

      • bunnylover says:

I’m in seventh and I weigh 80 pounds. Maybe it is because I’m not even 5 feet tall. I’m not especially active but I just don’t really gain weight. But then again, maybe they want you to get more vitamins and minerals, Vitamin C, but I had an apple with lunch then cookies then cookies for snack and muffins for breakfast. Maybe I should cut down on sweets. Oh well. An apple a day keeps Dr. Quack away!

        • maracujajuice says:

An onion a day keeps our friends away!

          • lilblacklab says:

            LOL *laughing*

hey, aren’t we supposed to be talking about breaking bad habits and NOT how fat we are? By the way.. I just finished sixth and I way ninety five. But I’m also kinda tall.

      • SnowBall says:

that’s not true. It depends on how tall you are. I’m 6th almost 7th and I only way 80!

PS. Who is existed for Summer?

      • firestar says:

I a 5th grader and im 66.5 pounds its fine to me :^)

      • chewbacca says:

my bad habit is i always say wait after everything anybody says! like if someone asks me did you like your lunch today? i say wait wait oh um yes

    • LIvia245 says:
