Guess what? I am learning to shoot a bow and arrow! Isn’t that neat? It’s called Archery and we’ve all been taking lessons at camp. PJ Collie is our archery instructor (she’s one of the counselors here too!) and she is teaching us to shoot at a target. She is really accurate. So far I haven’t actually managed to hit the target, but PJ says I am definitely improving. Alex hit the target today for the first time! It wasn’t anywhere near the bulls eye but it’s a lot closer than I got!
It’s more complicated to use a bow and arrow than I thought it would be. You have to point the bow at the ground to load it (so you don’t accidentally shoot your friends!) You place the tip of the arrow in a spot on the bow, and the end of the arrow catches on an attachment on the string called the nock. That is called ‘Nocking the Arrow’ and when PJ told us that we all thought she meant ‘knocking’ which didn’t really make much sense.
You pull the bow string back with three fingers then lift it up to point at the target. Our bows have mechanical sights which let you look at the target through a little tiny window to help you aim (but it didn’t really seem to help me that much!)
Even if I didn’t hit the target I still loved archery! I’m going to keep practicing and by the time camp is over I am sure I’ll hit the bulls eye!

wow people archery is easy i hit the bulleysey a billion times but maybe i just have talent haha but it is still hard hope you people get to try it it’s so much fun and playing archery on the wii is a lot diffrent. have fun people xoxoxo don’tmesswithme

wii archery is way easier than real archery. i use a right handed bow and i aim by pointing the arrow too far to the right… hint, hint
