Spirit of Giving Contest Winners

Christmas really is the most magical time of the year. If I could give anything to anyone this holiday season, it would be money to my mom’s friend Lorraine. Lorraine is such a hard worker; but sadly has little to spend on Christmas gifts, let alone their traditional tamales for Christmas dinner! If I could give her money to be able to continue their Christmas dinner tradition, it would be wonderful. Christmas isn’t about the gifts we receive, but the memories that we make each year!

If I could give anything to anyone, I would give my dad a pair of thick, warm boots. My dad is my hero. He works hard to give me and my brother a good life. When my dad got his holiday bonus from work, the first thing he did was take the family out for dinner. That’s how kind and thoughtful he is. My dad has to travel far to go to work and I want him to have thick boots, so he stays protected from the wind and cold. I think my dad deserves that and when I save up enough, that’s what I’m buying.

My name is Evan and I’m 7 years old. If I could give someone a special gift, it would be my dad. I would give him tickets to a Nascar race, it is his favorite thing. My dad works hard to give me and my family a place to live, food, and he plays with me a lot. He is my soccer coach, my cub scout leader, and he takes me camping every summer. I have 2 other brothers and a sister, and I know how hard it is for him to spend time with just me, but I enjoy any time he has, even if I have to share him.

My Mother really would like to get an R.V. for Christmas. If she would get one, she would take us from the east coast to the west coast along Route 66. However, we do not have the money to buy one, so if I could I would give her one. It would not be too big, but just right, and it would have room to bring our pet dog, Holly and our Bird, Witt. This is what I would give my mother for Christmas, an R.V.

One of my absolute best friends is blind. She’s really sweet, smart, and funny, but it’s a shame that she cannot see. If I could give her a gift, then I would give her her sight back. She lost it when she was much younger, and she is now legally blind. I know how much she would love to have her sight back. If only I could give my friend her sight back, then I would be extremely happy.
