I was so excited to get to report on the St. Bernard Gallery of Fine Arts! I absolutely LOVE this place. I decided the best way to learn all about its colorful history was to talk to its founders, Fluffington and Meriwether St. Bernard. This is what they had to say.
MP: Thanks for sitting down with me today, Fluffington and Meriwether!
FSB: Not a problem, my dear. I’m always happy to talk about art.
MSB: And I’m always happy to talk about teacups.
MP: I guess that’s the first thing; the St. Bernard Gallery of Fine Arts isn’t just about paintings and sculptures – it also features Webkinz World’s only teacup exhibit.
MSB: The crowning glory of the gallery, if I do say so myself.
FSB: Well, that’s YOUR opinion, Great-Aunt Meriwether. Some people appreciate the paintings and sculptures, you know.
MP: Of course, I didn’t mean to say that -
MSB: Yes, Fluffington, everyone likes your pictures and statues. They’re all very nice. But do you know why people COME to the gallery in the first place? They come for the teacups. My exhibit of over one thousand unique teacups from all over Webkinz World. Have you seen the little blue one with the pink daisies on it? Or the green one with the gold vines? Exquisite.
FSB: They’re just teacups! Compare them to ANY of the gorgeous sculptures or works of art – some of which I created myself – and they just don’t hold a candle to them.
MSB: That, my dear Fluffington, is YOUR opinion. And it is wrong.
MP: Hey, let’s change the topic! So, how did the gallery come to be?
FSB: Well, I’ve collected art my whole life. I even make art myself! My clay pots are outstanding, according to my pottery teacher.
MSB: They’re lumpy.
FSB: Anyway! I realized the art was taking over my mansion, so I decided to do something about it: namely, share! I thought a gallery would be the perfect place to display all of my gorgeous pieces. So I tried to buy some land.
MSB: Land that I had already purchased.
FSB: Land you knew I wanted, because I said so at our St. Bernard family dinner the month before!
MSB: I don’t recall that.
FSB: After a LOT of convincing, Great-Aunt Meriwether decided to let me build my gallery on the land.
MSB: And Fluffington decided, quite wisely, to let me open my teacup exhibit.
FSB: It was a compromise. But it worked out well.
MSB: Webkinz from far and wide come to the gallery to see the teacups. And the other things.
MP: The gallery IS quite popular. It’s so beautiful – I’ve never seen anything like it before! What is your vision for the gallery in the future?
MSB: More teacups, my dear!
FSB: What my great-aunt means to say is that we’d like to add more art. We’re always watching for the next artistic genius. And when we find that Webkinz – we’ll add their work to the gallery.
MSB: And more teacups.
FSB: Whatever.
Sounds like me and my 4 brothers arguing considering i am the littlest and they’re 14,15,13,12, :( hate having so many brothers!
