Located in the southeast corner of Kinzville, right next to Dr. Quack’s clinic, is one of my favorite places in Kinzville. The Adoption Center is a wonderful place where people welcome new additions into their homes. For my project on the Adoption Center, I decided to do an interview with one of Kinzville’s most respected citizens.
Nibbles: Ms. Birdy, can you tell us how you first came to work at the Adoption Center?
Ms. Birdy: Well, I have been friends with Dr. Quack for years and he knew that I had been searching for the perfect spot for my new adoption agency. So when he was first setting up his practice here in Kinzville and he discovered an abandoned building right next door to his new office, I was the first person he thought to call. And I am very glad he did.
Nibbles: What made you want to open an Adoption Center?
Ms. Birdy: Well, Nibbles, I have always loved working with little ones and have worked as a babysitter for years. I still employ many pets every day to help me with my babysitting duties. But I also saw that Kinzville was a growing and thriving community with families that needed help adopting new pets. There are a lot of complicated procedures and legal documents that need to be filled out when one adopts a pet. I wanted to make the process as easy and painless for families as possible.
Nibbles: Was it hard opening up your new business?
Ms. Birdy: Not really, Nibbles. I had plenty of help from my good friend, Dr. Quack. Oh – you should have seen us painting and putting up wallpaper. What a mess we made! I had a little money saved up from my babysitting business so I marched down to the W Shop and purchased a few cribs and a couple of high chairs. I borrowed an old stove and fridge from the doctor to feed the little ones.
Nibbles: Really? Those don’t look like second hand appliances to me. And you and Dr. Quack did quite the decorating job in here.
Ms. Birdy: Oh, Nibbles – things have changed very much since those early days. I am happy to say that adoption in Kinzville has been so successful that now I am able to provide only the best equipment for my little charges. And I’m glad you like the décor, but I’m afraid it’s much nicer now than the messy job Dr. Quack and I did. I asked Hailey and Elwin to help me with the space when the new Nursery theme came out in the W Shop. They did a fabulous job, didn’t they?
Nibbles: They really did. So what is your favorite part of working in the Adoption Center?
Ms. Birdy: That’s a very difficult question. I just love being able to help bring families together. I love to welcome them into my office, tucked into one small corner of the center, and quickly take them through the process of adopting a new pet. But I also love babysitting the little ones. I can never get enough of their adorable antics. I really couldn’t choose one thing I like best.
Nibbles: So there you have it. Ms. Birdy and the Adoption Center are both essential parts of Kinzville. Thank you so much, Ms. Birdy, both for answering my questions and for all that you do.
Ms. Birdy: Oh, it’s my pleasure, Nibbles. Truly.
I want to make this room!
