What you need:

  • 2 cardboard boxes (3” x 4” x 5”) and (2” x 3” x 5”)
  • Cardboard piece (5” x 4”)
  • 2 each yellow, red and white pipe cleaners
  • 1 Green pipe cleaner
  • White, brown and red paint
  • Tissue paper (red, yellow, orange)
  • Brown paper
  • Glue
  • Scissors
  • Paintbrush

What you do:

1.     Cut out one side of your 3” x 4” x 5” box.

2.     Glue that box in the center of the 5” x 4” cardboard piece so that the open side faces you.

3.     Glue the 2” x 3” x 5” box on top of the 1st box in the center positioning it upward.

4.     Draw single bricks on the top box.  These will become your red bricks

5.     Paint the single bricks red. Let dry.

6.     Paint white the cardboard piece (at the bottom of your fireplace), the top of the 1st box, and the top of the 2nd box. Let dry.

7.     Cut four 2 ½” lengths of yellow pipe cleaner.

8.     Secure them in place at the top and bottom by using the second yellow pipe cleaner, leaving them about 1” apart.  This will be your shield.

9.     Paint the rest of the fireplace brown.  Let dry.

10.  Cut out logs from the brown paper.

11.  Glue bits of tissues paper to the backs of the logs.  This will be your fire.

12.  Glue the fire inside the bottom box.

13.  Glue the shield in the opening in front or your fire.

14.  Twist one red pipe cleaner around one white pipe cleaner.  Cut in half.  Glue the halves in the two back corners of the chimney.

15.  Twist the last white and red pipe cleaners together.  Form an arch big enough to cover fireplace opening.

16.  Glue the green pipe cleaner and glue it around the chimney.  It should look like garland.

Have your whole Webkinz family snuggle in front of this cozy fireplace on Christmas Eve!

Do you have a great idea for a craft, recipe or party game? We’d love to hear them!

Is this worth crying over: in class we have a secret Santa draw, and a girl gets you. But the day that we do the gift exchange, she is not there for 2 days. Finally on the last day of school she comes and all she gives you is a poorly done card. Also she gives everyone else gifts, my friend got a teddy bear and I got a tiny seashell and she was MY secret Santa!!!!!

I don’t think it is worth crying over. This close to Chistmas she probably was sick and she was probably making do with what she had at home. It was her choice to wait until the last minute but not her choice to get sick. Just keep smiling and being nice. She will wonder what you are up to! Merry Christmas everyone! ♥♥♥foxpaws♥♥♥

The same thing happened to me! I was waiting FOREVER and she finally came in with a pretty bx. I unwrapped it, and it was a cheap barbie from the DOLLAR STORE! i spent almost our limit on how much we could spend ($15, I spent 14$) on a really nice artist kit that i later asked for for Christmas. (It was originally 21$, but marked down on clearance to 14$) A friend got a fan from JAPAN. another got a gorgeous necklace. I got a cheap barbie. I think you can imagine my frustration at this. I sat down in my chair and started braiding her hair. The girl who gave her to me comes frolicking to my desk. Do you like it? Oh. My. Gosh. I saw it it the store and had to get it for the exchange.” She squealed. I looked at her. “I like her hair.” I said with a fake smile on my face. She left and i continued braiding my dolls hair (which i do to my REAL barbies at home),and her head popped off. I nearly screamed. -lindsey981092

        • Starburst says:

We have a fire place, but it smells so we don’t use it.

        • Northwestern...my aunt's hot towels says:

My aunt has a rack in her fire place, and she gets towels wet, and lets them dry over the fire. They stay warm for almost three hours. I love going to my aunt’s house and getting a hot towel from the fire. In the winter time, Kodiak is all the rage about hot towels. She tries to recreate them in the dryer, but they don’t stay warm as long
