Introducing The “Comment Forum”
Just under two weeks ago, we introduced comments to Webkinz Newz. So far, we’ve received some great feedback from you, and we’re anxious to hear more from you in the future. To help make finding, reading, and posting comments easier, we’re introducing a new feature today: the “Comment Forum.” The “Comment Forum” is a single page that lists all the topics that can be commented on. All past and future posts with comments can be easily accessed through this new section. You can visit the forum by clicking the “Comment Forum” button on the bar below the Webkinz Newz logo. Be sure to head there and give us your feedback. We want to hear from you!
Notice: Ganz eStore Scheduled Maintenance
The Ganz eStore will be taken down for maintenance tomorrow morning (Tuesday, December 8th) from the hours of 3 AM EST to approximately 9 AM EST. During this time, the eStore will be inaccessible. Follow Ganz eStore on Twitter for further updates. We’re working hard to implement a new feature which will allow eStore shoppers to purchase and gift Deluxe Memberships to other players. We hope you enjoy this new feature, which will make sharing Webkinz with your loved ones even easier!

The Portuguese Water Dog is one of the new pets coming next year. This smart, loyal, and fun-loving pup comes with the Heated Hound Hot Tub, pictured below, and Barkalhau. After a hard day of play, be sure to let your Portuguese Water Dog take a break in its luxurious hot tub. Keeping your pets warm this winter will be a snap with this new item. If you like to be the life of the party, then you’ve got to befriend the wild and wacky Signature Penguin! Here’s a video of the Penguin at play! The Signature Penguin, which comes with a Frozen Fountain, Flying Fish and Chips, a piece of furniture from our exclusive Signature theme and a Wish Token, is December’s Signature pet. In Room: Mistletoe Mouse
Along with the Zircon Puppy birthstone pet that is now available, the Mistletoe Mouse is one of the new pets that will be coming to the eStore this month. The Mistletoe Mouse comes with Treats for Santakinz, pictured below, and Festive Cheese Fondue. Deluxe members will get the first chance to scoop up the Mistletoe Mouse tomorrow before it is released on the eStore to everyone on December 12. The merry pet will be available only until Christmas Day, December 25. Of course, you can always try to win one with our Mistletoe Mouse contest!

Bringing comments to Webkinz Newz has allowed us to better connect with you, our fantastic community, and allowed you to better connect with your fellow Webkinz players. But comments were just the first of many ways in which we are improving our community. We’re also bringing the community together through popular social networking services, including Twitter! We’ve got some great things planned for our new “Webkinz” Twitter account. Follow us on Twitter for an inside look at Webkinz from the team, including the Creative Director himself! Expect plenty of on-the-fly updates and the occasional tantalizing tweet about things to come. Watch out for improvements to Newz, further social networking tie-ins, and more in the near future. In the mean time, we’ll see you inside of Webkinz World!
Coming Tomorrow: Kinzville Park Improvements
Kinzville Park has become a popular destination for Webkinz of all shapes and sizes since its launch last week, and we’re proud to announce that a slew of improvements are coming to the Park tomorrow. In addition to some changes which will make accessing the park faster, Mr. Moo will be setting up shop—and he’s bringing treats! Players can buy some delicious ice cream from him. What a perfect snack to complement a day of fun in the park! We’ll be making these improvements tomorrow from 8:30 AM EST until about 10:30 AM EST, during which time the park will be temporarily closed. We look forward to enjoying some ice cream cones in the park tomorrow! Update: The update has been delayed until 4 PM EST.
Webkinz Foundation donates over $500,000 to charities featured on the Caring Valley™
Webkinz Foundation has donated $560,000.00 to the first five charities featured in the Caring Valley™ on the Webkinz World® site. “Kids showed they cared. We listened!” says Executive Director Mindy Ganz. “The Caring Valley is a fun and meaningful way to help Webkinz World members learn about giving, and also learn about charities that work to benefit children all around the world.” Webkinz Foundation is proud to announce the following donations: Save A Child’s Heart – $125,000 Make A Wish Foundation – $125,000 Free The Children – $110,000 Unicef Canada – $100,000 SickKids Foundation – $100,000 Information about each of these charities is available at webkinzfoundation.org. Christmas is Coming to Webkinz World!
Webkinz World is celebrating Christmas in a BIG way this year! Those of you that have been with us for a long time know that each Christmas you can spin the Super Wheel and get a special gift. That’s all still true, but this year you get to tell Santakinz what YOU want! Head on over to the Clubhouse and join the Santakinz room — click on Santakinz and line up to tell him which of three gifts you’d like to receive in your Christmas present this year! (And don’t forget to visit us on Christmas day to get your present.) You may have seen Ms. Birdy in the Clubhouse, too — she’ll be returning to the Adoption Center today, but she’ll be back on December 14th. Ms. Birdy LOVES Christmas, and she’s going to help us celebrate this year! Starting on December 14th, Ms. Birdy will be giving one small gift each day — there are 12 gifts to collect!
