Make a Snowflake
Want to make a snowflake? Here’s how! Step 1: Fold your square of paper into a triangle. Step 2: Fold your big triangle into a smaller triangle. Step 3: Take the right triangle point and fold it across and down. Step 4: Take the left triangle point and fold it across and down. Step 5: Cut the triangle points off the bottom. Step 6: Make lots of cuts in the sides and bottom of your triangle, careful to never cut the entire way across (or you’ll end up with confetti instead of a snowflake!). Step 7: Unfold your snowflake!

Only eight more days until Valentine’s Day – and that means you’ve got a lot of time to show those you care about how much you care! Here are a few great ideas, if you’re looking to spread the love this month. 1. Help out an elderly relative or neighbor. A great way to do this is by assisting with yard work or driveway shoveling. Not only is it helpful for your relative or friend, it’s also great exercise for you! 2. Make breakfast for your parents. Everyone’s so busy in the morning, so get up extra-early one day and whip up some cereal and toast…and don’t forget to clean up after! 3. Offer to babysit a little sibling (for free). Happy Groundhog Day!
Well, howdy Webkinz! It’s my very favorite day of the year – Groundhog Day! Why is that? Because….I’m a Groundhog! And as a Groundhog, I think it’s only fitting that I teach you my very favorite poem. In fact, I wrote it! It’s called: “My Shadow.” February second is Groundhog Day, And something happens, so they say. Everyone comes and stands together, So a Groundhog may predict the weather! If the sky is cloudy or filled with rain, The answer, then, will be quite plain, If a groundhog’s shadow cannot be seen, Then soon the grass will be warm and green. BUT… If the sun is in the sky, And his shadow he can spy, He’ll wrinkle his nose and puff his cheeks, ‘Cause winter will last SIX MORE WEEKS! Did the Groundhog in your area see its shadow today? Groundhog Bookmark
Is there anything cuter than a little Groundhog sticking out of the top of your book, patiently holding your spot? We don’t think so! Now you can make a festive Groundhog bookmark for yourself – and one for a friend! What you need: Thick ribbon or cardstock, brown felt, tan felt, black felt, scissors, craft glue, black fabric paint or black thread What you do: 1. Cut a circle and an oval from the tan felt. This will be the Groundhog’s head and body. 2. Cut two oval shapes and four round paws (two in tan, two in brown). The ovals are the Groundhog’s front legs. Glue a round tan paw on the bottom of each. 3. Glue the legs onto the front of the Groundhog’s body (he’s sitting down). 4. Glue a round brown paw behind the Groundhog’s front legs. 5. Cut a triangle to fit on the Groundhog’s face. This will form the Groundhog’s nose patch. 6. Cut a small black triangle for a nose. 7. Cut out two black eyes. 8. Hey friends! It’s me, Ella McWoof! I’m here with this month’s superstar, the Blufadoodle! Yup, this cool bird is February’s Pet of the Month – and I’m going to interview her! EM: So, first off welcome to your first interview! BF: Well, technically it’s not my FIRST interview, but thank you. EM: What do you mean? BF: Oh, Ella. You know. When you’re Pet of the Month, everyone wants to talk to you! You’re really, really popular! EM: Well, that brings us to our first question – what does it mean to you to be Pet of the Month? BF: It’s an honor. I was so happy when I found out about February being Blufadoodle month! I tried to think of a way to merge the two words together, but Blufabloduary doesn’t really work.
