Christmas is approaching, and you’ve already prepared your Christmas list which surely includes plenty of Webkinz pets. The question is: which is your favorite? We want to hear your top ten favorite pets of all time, so we’re having a Christmas Contest! Enter the names of your top ten favorite pets in the fields provide for a chance to win the Christmas Prize Pack (the “Prize”), which includes both a Holiday Tubby Tummies Bear and a Changing Ice Sculpture. Winners will be randomly selected from the pool of entrants who fill out all of the fields correctly. The contest opens at 12:00 am EST on December 19, 2009 and ends at 11:59 am EST on December 20, 2009. What is the rationale behind retiring items? I’m especially curious about the summer 2007 retiring of certain W Shop clothing. -Meghan We’re creative; reason doesn’t play into it :). Seriously though, we retire items to stir things up a bit and make the W Shop a little less daunting. There are well over 1500 items in the W Shop right now, and we add new items regularly. For a new member, that is a lot of items to sift through. So from time to time we will retire some of our older items to make room for new items. Watch for more retirements in the future, and while many of these items will be moved to the Curio Shop, not all of them will. Recipe Design Contest
Webkinz Newz is holding our first Recipe Design contest. We want you to submit a drawing (scanned or drawn on the computer) of a new Secret Recipe that you’d like to see in Webkinz World. We’ll be looking for unique, creative drawings – five recipes will be selected and the winners will receive the super rare Master Chef Trophy. Even better, we may transform the winning designs into real Secret Recipes! Check the Contests page for more details. Note: while art skills are always a bonus, we’re primarily looking for signs of imagination. The winning entries may not necessarily be the best drawn.

Check the Contests page for more details. The Spring Celebration Bunny contest will be open on from 12:00am EST until 11:59pm EST this Friday. If you couldn’t submit your small yellow room last weekend, this will be your chance. Anyone that entered previously does not have to re-enter the contest.
