Crafty Critterz: Starburst

Submitted by: san with giggles               What you need: Pink and Purple Construction Paper Tape Scissors Paper Clip What you do: 1.       Cut 3” x 3” square pieces of pink construction paper, you will need 3 pieces. 2.       Cut 3” x 3” square pieces of purple construction paper, you will need 3 pieces. 3.       Fold each piece of paper on the diagonal in half and fold again. 4.       With the fold facing down, cut through both layers on the fold. 5.       Open up each triangle completely. 6.       Roll the smallest flaps together with a little overlap and tape. 7.       Flip over, and Repeat with the medium set of flaps, overlap and tape. 8.       Flip over one last time and repeat with the last set of large flaps, overlap and tape. 9.       Pinch each piece together alternating colors and tape together. 10.   Pierce the top of one section with paper clip and hang in your favorite spot.   Do you have a great idea for a craft, recipe or party game? Crafty Critterz: Blueberry Bumper Car

Submitted by: ted with louey                     What you need: Tissue Box Glue Stick Tape Scissors Pencil Blue and Green Construction Paper White Foam or White Cardboard Green Pipe Cleaner What you do: 1.     Trace all sides of the tissue box, (except the side with the hole in it) onto blue construction paper. 2.     Cut off the top face of the box (the face with the hole). 3.     Cut out the sides from the blue construction paper, and glue onto the five remaining sides of the box. 4.     Cut openings into both sides of the box (not the front and back sides). 5.     Now, wrap a piece of green construction paper (about 1” high) around the bottom of the box. This will be the “bumper.” Tape in place. 6.     Glue on two white circles from foam or cardboard onto the box front for “head lights.” 7.     Tape a rectangular piece of blue construction paper to the top front of the bumper car. 8.     Bend the green pipe cleaner a little near the top, and tape the stem’s bottom to the back inside of the car. Crafty Critterz: Webkinz DJ Turntable

Submitted by: inf with husk             What you need: Black, Yellow Construction paper Construction Paper (2-5 colors) 2 screws or nails Shoebox Black marker Scissors Knife (have an adult assist when using the knife) Glue What you do: 1.     Glue 1 piece of construction paper to top of shoebox. 2.     Cut two circles out of black construction paper. 3.     Cut two rings out of yellow construction paper. 4.     Glue one yellow ring to each circle. 5.     Using a nail or screw to punch hole through middle of construction paper and through the lid of the box.  Have an adult assist with this step. 6.     Cut 6 slits in top of box with knife.  Have an adult assist with this step. 7.     Label slits: On/Off, Pitch and Volume. 8.     Cut six 2 inch straight line cut outs of colored construction paper. 9.     Fold strips in half and then fan out top. 10.  Insert strips into pre-cut straight line. Submitted by: Ali with Alie           What you need: Any kind of box Tape Glue Red & Yellow Paint Ruler Cotton Balls Scissors – Have an adult assist with all the cutting in this Craft What to do: 1.       Use the ruler to measure a diameter of about 7 inches on the cardboard box. 2.       Draw and cut out the circle. 3.       Cut out another circle identical to the first one.  Set them aside. 4.       Cut out a strip of cardboard that measure 4.5 inches by 20.25 inches. 5.       Tape one circle to each side of the cardboard strip. 6.       Cut out another strip that measure 5.5 inches by 10 inches. 7.       Fold in 2 inches on each side of the 2nd strip you just cut out. 8.       From there, fold that in half. 9.       Tape together the two 2 inches parts to form a triangle. 10.    On the one part (the first parts you have already put together) stretch a long piece of tape across to hold together the two circles, so the middle does not bend. 11.    To help prevent bending, attach another piece of cardboard to the bottom. 12.    Place that part over … Read more
